30 mph not bad right, it handled fine too and nothing broke. Was stable at speed also, unlike the shitty WL Toys models. Put in the titan 12T and see how great it will be. I might pick one up on eBay soon, to try myself.

hehe sweet, just started running my newish lunchie on 2s with the stock motor for the garden, put a hobbywing 1060 esc in it, handles like a joke but it is awsome fun and had it doing forward flips etc , my garden is rough :)

That's cool my first hobby grade Rc was the midnight pumpkin! I just stopped running because I got tired of snapping body post & put it on the shelf & 17 tooth pinion got mine moving pretty good wouldn't wheelie all that good . Cool 👍

Aren't those stock ESC only rated for a 25 turn motor and slower? I have a Dyna Run Racing stock which people have told me is around a 20-23 Turn motor, and i was thinking that might be too much for the ESC? But you are running a 13 Turn which seems crazy when the specs say it will only take 25 Turns or more

Probably helps that the Lunchbox has low gearing. You'd kill that motor on 3s in a buggy if you drove it for more than a few minutes and/or off road.

Dude, I miss my old 2 speed shift on the fly 14.4 V EXV Traxxas Emaxx. Ever since they went single speed, I cant deal with them. And yes, this wheelies alot, but honestly at speeds it's pretty stable, I was surprised.

You can put a ESC fan on it Tamiya makes a kit should stop the thermal shutdown..And I don't think the XL5's will do 30 plus without a gearing change lol..More like 19 or 20 out the box

PhilthyCo RC yep the xl5 traxxas are a bad deal compared to even any off brand rc. Btw my lunch box is fast bc i put it on the treadmill for a workout (at end of video). This was all stock other than the venom motor, even with 3s lipo the gears are fine. Maybe its time to go brushless, haha.

Le controlleur TBLE 02S Tamiya n'est pas compatible avec les moteurs de moins de 25T. Donc avec ce moteur 13T je pense qu'il va vite surchauffer et couper le moteur.

Hey there..just upgraded to a brushless system..ocday 4000sumtin kv..its not fancy but still crazy as hell..ending up with my gear torn apart..the cars not movin..i was wonderin..is it tamiya car overall cannot be abuse that much such as the modern rc..traxxas maybe..that jus my opinion..please tell me whats your opinion..bottom line..ive felt in love with a tamiya kit couse its fancy look and detail body..sumtin that other modern brand dont have..but when it corelated with chassis or gear i think i couldnt espect much..just for my eyes only..cheers

ge ra Hey buddy. I also have two ocday 5200kv systems in other models. Love them. I never went brushless with this because its just such an ancient design with plastic gears. You gotta try getting metal gears then, or repair and just go easy on throttle. Even the modified brushed motor in this is the limit for this design. Basically all modern rcs have metal gears now and this would not happen.

hey buddy! Let me tell you exactly what you need in order to run a lipo on this thing. The stock Tamiya ESC comes with a Tamiya Plug, meanwhile most LIPOS will never have a Tamiya plug. Whatever lipo battery you buy, you will need an adapter for the tanya plug. Your only other choice is to solder on a compatible connector. I highly recommend you get an adapter.

hey buddy, what's up. You could get any modified brushed motor. The one I was using was a 13T venom (currently been discontinued for over 10 years). Next time you put your RC car on the treadmill just tie a small string to it and it will not move from side to side and you will be able to max out top speed

hello, Yes, I ran it with a 3S for a few runs. ESC did eventually go into cut-off mode though. IT was a very hot day. This is the stock tamiya ESC that came with the kit. It's capable of 2-3S and brushed or brushless motor.
