Tamiya M4A3E8 Sherman Easy 8 [

The Tamiya 1/48 scale M4A3E8 Sherman Easy 8. It's a Tamiya kit, so it's not likely to disappoint... and this kit doesn't do that. It's quite good. The little brackets along the sides of the hull are a bit more fiddly than anything in your average Tamiya kit, but I think it was worth it.
A fun build that results in a good looking tank.

"Crank starting rod"? (14:41) Could be a cleaning rod for that tubular thing that sticks out of the turret. The tank crew kept the assembled cleaning rod pole underneath the bracket thingies on the fenders. The cable string (21:30) is the better design since a plastic cable would be fiddly and break on the sprue before it was snipped off, plus with a string cable it can be twisted around for more realism.

Until he gets to it I can tell you it's pretty good. Like other Tamiya kits it goes together well but not that great on detail. AFV Club's tiger in 1/48 is my favorite for that scale.
