Hello, Mark. I was very impressed with the fact that you could casually turn the propshaft with your fingertips, driving two diffs just with the friction your fingers exerted upon that smooth steel. As for those pesky 10mm pins, which just love to slide through the hole in the shaft and either misalign themselves or fall right out while you're picking up the pinion, I've discovered that a smear of grease from the rather miserly-sized supplied tube is enough to settle their hash and permit a much easier assembly process. Like The Contractor, I enjoy watching your build videos whether or not I' ll ever actually assemble the chassis featured. It's interesting, and it's relaxing, too.
@MarkBryanRC2 жыл бұрын
Hell Del! Oh yes, the drivetrain on this chassis is very smooth, I used ceramic grease, it's got a low viscosity and I think that helps things move easily, but still an excellent lubricant. Yep, I've lost plenty of those pesky pins, good idea to coat them in something sticky to stop them running away. Many thanks for the kind comment, I'm glad you find the videos relaxing, great to hear, mate. Take care and all the best from your friend Mark...

Alright mate..🤘 - I'm a bit like Carmine in that I don't need to watch build videos, but as he says, watching you do them does create a pleasantly relaxing experience. Also ( although I'll probably never build a tt-02 ), I just can't resist witnessing the process of something being created. I'm a sucker for it. These things start up as a bag of nuts, bolts, rods and stanchions then eventually turn into something beautiful - especially with you painting and decorating the shell. Anyway I look forward to seeing this great kit blossom into something to be immensely proud of. Another cool, cool addition to your collection. Take care mate...😎😁.

Alrighty, mate! Hope you are doing well. I'm sure most of my viewers don' actually need to see this type of instructional video (..and I know you sure don't) but I'm glad they do watch! I also find myself getting drawn onto build videos by other channels, it's almost therapeutic for me. Good point, a box of tiny bits ends up becoming a thing of beauty, what a fantastic hobby to be a part of. I hope this one turns out as well as you imagine - I'm working on the body right now, some fiddly painting details to do. I'm also fiddling with wires and LEDs, hope to get the front blazing! Hi there, I really enjoyed watching you build this chassis to this step. I have a Suzuki Jimny MF-01X. When I built the centre blocks I used polystyrene cement to hold the two block halves together as well as screws and the same to hold the two centre blocks together. I found it gave an even stiffer centre block to bolt the front and rear assemblies too. Well done with the content, keep up the good work!! 🎉

Hi Mark, hope you and the family are well. That’s another great tutorial of the MF-01X chassis build to what is going to be a very iconic Ford. I’ve got the Beetle version that Sir RC Elf got for me, to build, so I’m eagerly watching your build steps. I like the idea of changing the Tamiya 10mm self tapping screws for 10mm button headed hex stainless screws. I must get some more of those from Westfield Fasteners. Great guide tips my friend. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉🤣

Hello John and thanks as always for the great comment. Oh, the Beetle version is just as lovely, I know you will enjoy making that iconic car, too. Those stainless screws are so much better than the stock self-tappers, but you do need to grease the threads when inserting into the harder plastics, otherwise you get stuck half way in! All the best to you and your family, too! :)

I have the MF-01X chassis for my Beetle Rally, I also have a scar on my hand from trying to take a 'slither' of the chassis to fit the ESC in. Other than that its a belting chassis. I have bought an Escort shell for it also, but I think it is one of my favorite 4WD from Tamiya 👍🚑

Nice Saturday morning entertainment for me as usual, Mark! It looks like a nice kit to build, is it a new chassis from Tamiya? The gearbox looks sort of similar to DT-02/3. Nice with the stainless screws, I also just bought a big set of screws from Amazon, I'll be building a Top Force from scratch, so I'll need them then. Might be a good idea with a bit of grease on them. It's weekend, I got no idea what RC stuff to start on. Rotten week behind me, but today is a sunny day, so I think I'll just chill and enjoy it. Hiya Mads, glad to supply some morning entertainment! Sue is a nice build, it's not a new chassis but then it's not a classic either, but the Escort version is pretty recent, I think it came out late last year. Hey good stuff mate. Interesting because although I own an MF-01X I bought it second hand and already built so I never saw the workings. Watching this I was thinking about maybe converting mine into a little rally car but I never got the spacer bits that go in the middle to make it longer. I guess I could order them. It's currently at the shortest length which would suit a Mini but I'm sure I tried before and that shell won't sit properly on this chassis. And a pack of 100 is only a few pence more! Free postage! They don't do packs for Tamiya kits, you just have to buy M3 screws of different lengths to match the length of the ones in the kit. I buy packs of 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 15mm screws and just use the Tamiya ones for longer screws as there is usually only a few long ones. Hope this helps - cheers!

Thanks, Oscar! In my opinion it's the TT-02 Type S (after a few tweaks to the front suspension arms). It really is excellent and 10x better than a standard TT-02 chassis.
