The fav was my basher back around 84 with my mates frog. The gearbox was so worn it was full of washers and went through multiple hex drives. Great to get hold of one

The FAV is always welcome! Such a classic scale tamiya! Plus regarding the Evo Hornet video you did, it was always going to be a mine field saying anything negative about anything to do with the Hornet! Obviously the Hornet name is like one of the tamiya gods! I am one that jumped on the band wagon on that topic but please never apologise as you said everyone has their opinions and its totally true everyone is entitled to their opinion! But you are wrong😆 just kidding! Anyway back to this vid and the Super Astute is a class act so can't wait to see that again for sure! Cheers James.

Nice one. Just found your channel. I was hoping for an original Astute. Looks much better than the Super in my opinion.

One gathers there are issues with Porsche as to licencing the 959 body , Tamiya , release the chassis and let the aftermarket fill in the blanks !

I'm wondering now if Tamiya are going to gauge the success of the Evo, and then re-engineer the Grasshopper. It'll be interesting to see.

Super astute expected uk December 9th. YES!!!!!!!!

I watched a Japanese retro race meet recently on @TEAMCHONMAGE and they had a Baja 380 motor class and most were using fully customised DT-02 chassis and body. The Hornet EVO is basically a DT-02 rear end, so I think they're targeting that market.

G’day mate, great channel always love your content. I for one will not get the new Hornet EVO, I just don’t like the way Hornets look. Saying that I have 3 CW01s, the Lunchbox, Midnight Pumpkin and the new Pajero, I just love how quirky they are. I do love the FAV, I’ve wanted one since the 90s. Great show, thanks for your knowledge. 🤓👍🇦🇺

Off topic but….I want to relive my childhood by building a rc car. I’m not lookin for a shelf queen but something that actually performs well, with a modern brushless system. What is the best driving 4wd buggy? I built a Thunder Shot years ago with my old man and kinda want to relive that….

Has to be Tamiya? Because the Kyosho Optima Mid might be what you need. Look it up! Good luck!
@jonhowland49854 ай бұрын
@@Rafoam Pretty much. I would do an egress before the avante like he suggested. I’m looking at a top force maybe. Thanks for the idea tho, they do fit the bill of the old school look I’m after
@leemollison75084 ай бұрын
Top Force Evo. The standard Top Force kit misses out on the Carbon Chassis, Carbon Shock Towers, Full Ball Bearings and Aluminium Hi-Caps. I think the ball diffs may be different as well, they were between Top-Force and Top-Force Evolution. The drivetrain will handle sensible fast brushless. Alternatively, any of the Kyosho Legendary series kits are magnificent and a real reward to assemble.

I'm soooooo stoked with the re-re Super Astute. I missed the last run and almost dumped $700 on a buyee japan one. Lets Go! Man, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I really don't get why everyone likes the Falcon......I think its probably one of my least favourite 80's Tamiyas. Just my opinion.
