Awesome build! I really liked the way you showed us how you weathered the model. The end result looks fabulous. Thanks for putting this on KZbin.

Very nice work as always, I as empressed by your brush control when painting the road wheels. Its always good to see another fan of Revell acrlyics. The Semovente was one of the better Italian tanks of WW2, you are really doing it justice.

There's definitely something up with the balance of the universe because between you and Luis making what is without doubt two of the best tanks I've ever seen, I now want to go and get a 1/35 armour kit! That chipping was perfect and to see it all come together was a jot from start to finish! This one is already in the running for your best kit of 2013! ;)

As always a very good video of a very good build. I have nothing but admiration for your work Michael
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling12 жыл бұрын
thank you very much :) the last pic is awesome because it shows the tank in colour, it has an interesting camo. might be a project for the future to build exactly this scene.

haha thank you very much for this :) the comments are essential here, of course i like it to get some nice comments but it is also helpful to ask questions and so on. i appreciate both types of comments a lot, thank you mate!

Awesome work there my friend. I remember building these as a boy , sure brings back memories lol. The weathering was fantastic :-)

Excellent build of another model kit by you!
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling12 жыл бұрын
back then kits were sometimes quite similar, but it is definately not the same tooling. i made the zvezda semovente years ago (which is a reboxed italeri kit) and overall it is alright, but not as good as the tamiya one (the updated tamiya kit i used here is even better). anyway, it is a nice kit, so have fun building it!
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling12 жыл бұрын
thank you! this kit is truely a tamiya classic :) thats why i made it because i wanted to show you how tamiya improved the kit and that it isn´t hard at all to build a decent model with the kit.
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling12 жыл бұрын
thank you very much! the old tamiya kit isn´t great but the improved one i used here is pretty good and easy to assemble. if you feel inspired now you could get one :) i think your projects are coming along very nicely!

lol thats very nice to hear from you mate :) we all learn from each other, l learn from luis and he learns from me, same with all others from the community. you are one of the best aircraft model builders i know, so building a tank for a change should be a very fun project for you, especially the extreme weahering with mud, dust chipping and so on :) you barely see that on aircrafts (for obvious reasons of course!).

WOW this job requires a lot of patience and skill, but you did a great job. My grandfather used this tank during ww2 in africa, gave some satisfaction against the British, but not comparable with those of the German tanks and Soviet.

I always paint all those small rubber wheels as separate objects and glue them in after I fit the tracks.I also make the complex suspension units as sub assemblies, all the parts are prepainted.

thank you very much my friend :) i thought that the part where i paint the wheels or apply the smut pigments might be interesting just to see how i work. i did not speed up this parts to demonstrate how my "work speed" actually looks like.

WHAT? You're using a handbrush?? A hairy stick?? Are you going soft in your old age?? ;) I thought there was nothing you couldn't do with that magic airbrush of yours... ;) :) I will most definetely bear in mind the mix of 9 and 91, it's sound just about right, thanks for that idea.. :) The tank sure turned out impressive & beautiful, but then I would have been VERY surprised, had it not, coming from you!! :) Pure eyecandy! :) I got my Polish Tankette today, will post an inbox later if I can! :)

Thanks! I found a place here in town where I can get micro sol and it is not expensive so I am happy.
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling12 жыл бұрын
thats alright of course, i personally tend to assemble the model as far as possible. i don´t mind it to paint such small parts later, i have a steady hand and the patience.
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling12 жыл бұрын
thank you very much :) the assembly only needs some practise and suitable tools - the really difficult thing is to make the assembled piece of plastic look like steel!

@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling12 жыл бұрын
there are some other decal softener but none of them is as good as micro sol as far as i know. as i said in the video, the alternative is painting the surfaces where the decals will sit on with a gloss varnish, but thats a matter of taste.

why didnt do the figures???? what other technique can use as weathering instead??? maybe using acrylics? beautiful model you did it here very realistic
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling10 жыл бұрын
i don´t like tamiya figures, they look not very good in my opinion. you can use acrylics for weathering too.

haha i almost forgot how those hairy sticks look like and especially how to use them :) my airbrush is only good for rough work, i actually do a lot with brushes but i do as much as i possibly can with my airbrush. i´m lazy :) thats the reason why i will never be such an amazing brush painter like you, you don´t even need such a "toy".

Indeed it is if you consider the company (FineModls) and how rare this tank is in this scale... i bought some hand to hand fight figures and i am gonna make something like your Tarawa thing plus a tank! It takes time cause the figures are difficult and i cant go to my grandmas workbench since MY SISTER SLEEPS SO MUCH! I am also a little stuck with Assassin's Creed too ;) Can you believe that i bought the first and the second ones for only 15 euros?
