Tamiya T-Rex [

So I built a T-Rex... It's a bit derpy, perhaps, but It's my T-Rex... Why wouldn't it be derpy.
Not the worst kit I have ever built. Definitely the one needing the most filling though.
There is a temptation to attach some guns or lasers or something to this guy.... Maybe... Anyway... let me know what you think.

I’ve had this kit, as well as Tamiya’s Triceratops and Stegosaur since they were reissued in the 1980s. I painted the T-Rex with a series of washes, going from light to dark. The kit is definitely old-school, feeling more at home in the 1930s than how we know theropod dinosaurs look today.

I’ve always loved this model, I bought mine in the early 1980s when they were re-released, they have that great old school T-Rex look from the 1950s and 60s. To me this Rex always looked like the one from the movie Dinosaurus, which featured stop motion work by the great Willis O’Brien, and dinosaur models by Marcel Delgado, both of whom worked on the original King Kong. Great video!

Maybe rivetcounters in dinosaurs could be called scalecounters? Anyway we don't really know so much about dinosaurs and according to modern science they should be feathered giant chickens, not lizards.

I work on modle cars and theres a type of modle glue that kinda melts the plastic and i think you coulf use it for gaps

Nov. 18, 2018---Thanks for the kit review. Getting back into model building after 15+ years, but instead of aircraft/armor, going for 1/35th scale zombie/apocalypse dioramas. Did a lot of Google researching on survivors, abandoned homes, etc., then came across abandoned theme parks, one being a dinosaur park in Arkansas. There's a T-Rex laying on its side and tail broken off. Want to have a survivor(s?) using it as shelter. Bought Tamiya's T-Rex along with 2 other kits though I haven't popped open the boxes to look them over. At the park, there's some "dinosaur eggs" in a nest...use smaller portions of a plastic Easter egg for this. With this being a theme park, accuracy is not a big thing. And as a truck driver, found/visited another dinosaur park in Florida many years ago. Then there's 2 running, meat eater type dinosaurs out in the middle of no where in Arizona near a gas station. Now looking for a SMALL brontosaurus to use with a Sinclair gas station.

Well this kit can be about 50 years old Tamiya Panther A is from 1968 for example but has way better moulding so maby trex is even older lol

There are two Tyrannosaurus Rex from Tamia this one looks kind of silly teeth are too big compare it with the other Tamia you'll see a big difference

This is the worst kit Tamiya ever made. The worst T-Rex kit ever made. Absolutely appauling on every front. I don't have a clue what they were thinking when they decided to sully their reputation with this rubbish, I mean look at its feet !!!!!!!???

This T.rex is very ugly, but is of the 70s, so is forgivable, the new one looks better
