The different battery set up is for the TD2. Great to see it’s an included option on the TD4.

Great tips, thanks! The boxart is growing on me, too bad i went for black with translucent yellow windows. One thing’s for sure, there’s not much room up top. Really need to cut and solder wires for a cleaner electronics install. This really tidied up my setup.

Check out Tamiya of America Phil, they did a video showing all the different kinds of batteries that will fit the TD4 along with I think was a 17.5 t brushless motor. Had quite a bit of useful information even if the guy didn’t seem to know Rc very well . Still waiting for mine .

Looks like a great build! Awesome video 🙌🏻 Looks like there were quite a few parts left over on the tree… the TD2 is going to have battery mounted though that rear slot but I wonder if there are any other models coming using this new chassis given the amount of parts on that tree? 🧐

Excellent video👍 I've bought a standard servo for it! So it looks like another trip to the hobby shop for a low profile servo🙄 I think we are going to have a range of buggies with this chassis and I'll put money on it that a super egress will appear with a cross mounted battery set up?
@poorboysrc3 жыл бұрын
Ah, good man, prepped for the build! Others here have said that the cross-mounted battery is for the TD2, but I think this chassis will have other uses. Super Egress??? Oh man, I hope so!!!
@Yetiboy_FCTT3 жыл бұрын
You might need to check on the front dampers in the instructions, you're not the first to make the mistake with the placement of the spring collar on the damper shaft. Competition X made the mistake too, before he worked it out. Otherwise it looks pretty good and I can't wait for the to be available here in the UK.

You're absolutely right! I had to re-read the manual a few times in order to get it right. Thanks for pointing that out! 👊

Great battery show and tell! I bet, without the figure in the buggy that changing the battery would seem easier.

Yeah removing the driver would add a little room, making it easier to get a battery in/out.

Interesting regarding that optional battery arrangement, so you can put is sideways like on a DF01 or Thundershot Chassis.

Awesome ! Thanks for the video. Is it likely that piece you glued on is going to hold up? Seems sketchy to have to glue it on instead of screwing in. Also, the cross battery is going to be the standard for the td2 which is the 2wd version of td4 only with different front end.
@poorboysrc3 жыл бұрын
I hope that little piece doesn't fall out! Lol! The instruction manual clearly states to glue it in... Ugh, I would prefer a grub screw or something, but hey, trust in Tamiya. Lol!

Great video - did you have any further issues with the dog bones popping out? Are the universals really necessary or just desirable?
@poorboysrc2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! I've been OK with my dogbones but that said, I've only run the buggy for one pack! I've got my steering set quite conservatively too. I'm sure if I'd increase my steering angle I'm gonna run I to the dogbone issue. Upgraded diff parts just arrived, editing video now. Stay tuned! 👊

The longitudinal battery mount is for the TD2 configuration. Will it bind on the drive shaft on the TD4 layout if you go widthways on the chassis?

@poorboysrc3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it would be interesting to see how the battery placement affects handling, I agree with ya. Not sure how to test it, maybe just hit a series of turns and see how it reacts? 🤔 I don't have the entire Avante family, but I kinda wish I did now... lol! Might need to start collecting them! 🤣

Sorry to hear that man, you definitely aren't alone there. The aluminum t-nuts work well and the yeah-racing gear diff is top notch, too! Just sucks that you have to buy upgrades just to make a kit work, Tamiya failed there, big time.

Hi, is the Avante good for driving on a dirt rc race track with jumps?
@poorboysrc2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely it is! To make the most of it you'll want to upgrade the front dogbones to CVD's and if you're like me (and many others) and have issues with the diff, you'll need to upgrade it as well.
