Tamiya Volkswagen Karmann Ghia - A Look At The Bodyshell

Got my hands on a Tamiya Karmann Ghia kit today - its as close as I'm going to get to owning a real one! The kit hasn't been available for that long and I struggled to find out too much about the body and associated parts before I bought it. This then is a look-see at those bits so you too can convince yourself its worth it...
And as usual, turning the camera on turns my brain to mush...right at the beginning I say the toy fair at the Nurburgring - what I meant is Nuremberg - close but no cigar. Apologies!

@@antrc This is only my second, I bought one of the MX5 kits a few years back (M05 chassis) but didn't enjoy putting it together and I still need to machine up some spacers to get the steering servo in place. As for the ride on this one, I've set the bar very low for that 🤣 Its got 'friction dampers', so unless the design has changed much there isn't much friction so its all bouncy bouncy springs basically. I'm hoping a better fit of the body on the chassis with magnets / velcro will stop the wobble you get from body posts and pins. It may need an upgrade to oil filled dampers, but we'll see how it pans out. To be honest, It will mainly be a shelf queen so as long as it sits nice on the shelf I won't get too upset...
