Tamiya Yaris build & hand issues

Hello Bob, I hope the carpal tunnel has eased up some so you can enjoy the build. In 2016 I had issues with my left arm from the shoulder to my fingers. Lost about 8% of muscle took about 3 years to get almost to normal. I would like to see you do both bodies, just take your time. The Yaris is a tricky little something with all those stickers (decals) Take care take your time.👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks Al... Yeah this hand thing and others really got me messed up but I been smoke free for 4 months now!!!! I'll get to the point where I can no longer stand it then I'll go see someone about it, I been only guessing it's carpal tunnel, I don't know for sure.

First, hoping you'll get well soon. Health comes first. Of course I want to see the Yaris. If it's easier do the Calibra run first.

Thanks Dirk, I appreciate it brother.. The Yaris is to be my Rally Cross car. I was just going to use the chassis as my test platform for motors & ESC's. Also compare plastic bushings to ball bearings and bearing to bearings (rubber shielded, metal shielded, cheap bearings to ceramic bearings, greased to oiled bearings....) To see what is faster for the money.. As for the Calibra body, I just love the way they look, always have from the first time I seen one back in 1996.

When that Yaris kit came out I wondered who in the world wants a Yaris but it has really grown on me and I am pretty sure I will end up getting one! I like this one much better than the new version of it. I do like those wheels and tires! The little valve stem is pretty sweet little touch!! I hope you get some relief from the wonky hand, I know that has to be driving you crazy to not be able to tinker around with stuff! Take care bud!

That's what happened to me, the more I looked at, the more I liked it... I wouldn't say it's good for the first time builder, the chassis yes, it's a standard TT-02, but the body, WOW, as you said about extra lexan parts (separately molded lexan pieces in this kit, 2 or 3). The wheels & tires do look more scale but you'll never notice when in motion. I still don't know for sure what I'm doing with this..... As for the hand, it's time to go see someone about it, this is getting very aggravating..... I'll show you tomorrow....

Hey Bob, it still looks awesome even with only a few stickers on! Sorry to hear about those carpal tunnel issues, my Dad had that in both hands and ended up having operations on them, much better now! Anyway, you are doing a great job considering the health issues. Just take your time and do what you can, then pour a large whiskey! Life is too short, brother. The Cliff looks bloody lovely, top job there! Love those wheels, the details are superb. As for what I wanna see, it's whatever you find easier to do. Take care mate! Ramble on! 😎😎👍👍

Brother, I tell you, this hand thing is really starting to SUCK!!! Yes sir, those wheels & tires look really good (they do mount to the TT-02 chassis just fine) but looks aren't everything (I bought them on looks though, LOL). We must chat soon dude!!!

Hi there Bob, so sorry that you’re suffering my friend, cannot be very easy at all, being right handed and having carpal tunnel syndrome. If i was closer my friend, I would help you with the labour….so many stickers to place on, you’re certainly going be a while. It’s a shame it isn’t cost effective to send it to me 😊. Loved the appearance of the cliff body too, the Yaris body is going to be great to see, but perhaps, take your time with that, and do a run video with the cliff, to fill the time. 😊😊😊a great update bud. I'm not really suffering, I'm more pissed cause of the annoyance of it all. Thanks for the offer but I have a body man if I need help (Kevin) but the way my hand has been, I don't dare play with an airbrush and I have a body to paint.. The more I looked at the Yaris, the more I liked it.

Sorry to hear about the carpel tunnel mate. Probably one of the worst conditions to have for someone who enjoys this hobby, I sympathise fella. My father has recently had the operation on his. It's a very high success rate, and he is really glad he had it done, as he can now work with his hands once more! I would try and get this sorted first mate..... those decals can wait, they look like a nightmare, even for anyone with fully functioning hands! 🤣 Those Chinese wheels and tires look sweet, a lot better than the ones we got for the tto2..... they were awful! 👍 👍 👍 👍

James, it's a good thing it's not my trigger finger (I shoot left handed). Yes sir, need to go see someone about this, it's really starting to annoy me, plus, I'm pissed, earlier today, I spilled my coffee all over my TV & Cable remotes... Hand failed me.. No email from Taylor yet but I did email him (copied & pasted from "about" so I hope it's right. For the wheels & tires, yeah they look good, but looks are second best to performance. The wheels that came with the Yaris are not bad, I think Tamiya used those on the TA-03F Opel Cliff kit but those wheels are older, early to mid 90's maybe, I think a Lancia (white Wheels) used that style, You can still see it in some Tamiya cockpits...

@@UncleBobsRC Cool man, worth getting it sorted I would say..... my old man went from being a fully competent engineer to not being able to even wire a plug with that carpel tunnel, it drove him insane! The operation works very well fella. Right, I've chased up Taylor...... he said he has received your email, and will message you in a mo mate! He will get a couple of our stickers to you my friend. Hi Bob. I saw your comment on Poor Boys RC and went to check your channel, and funny enough, I just ordered me a TT-02 Gazoo, the newer version, so I got interested and checked this video. I'm sorry to hear about your hand, I hope you get it sorted soon. I got Rayneud's myself, but that's only when it gets cold, it all starts to tingle and doesn't work right... Luckily I live in a country that has Saunas in every house, ha ha! Looking forward to seeing this one out for the run, or the Joest Calibra or something... Funny, I am of same convistion as you, I do think the ESC has a lot to say about speeds, I want to try and prove it too, someday, like you said, it's a lot of work...

Thanks man, I appreciate that.. In this hobby, having hand issues suck!! I don't really think an ESC will make the car/vehicle any faster (volts is volts not matter where it comes from) but the frequency (Hertz) will make it smoother. 2,500 Hz is smoother that 500 Hz, there for, the higher number stays cooler longer, hence, power isn't waisted through heat. My TT-02SR hit 39 mph with 2S, Tekin 4800kv brushless motor & mild gearing. I run a Mercedes Benz AMG body body.

Thanks brother... I'm going to find time to see someone about the hand. My intention is to build a Rally Cross car with the Yaris body, the Calibra body I bought just because I like the way they look... I'll figure something out.

Hopefully you get well soon ! Man that is a lot of stickers 😂 . Mistakes do happen but with this amount of stickers it's not really visible. Does wheels are spot on !

Thanks mate... This hand thing is really getting on my nerves (get it, nerves... LOL). Hell yes, a lot of stickers and thankfully, most of the "oops" I got painting the body will be covered with stickers... Those wheel right... They do look good.

That Yaris will be awesome. Those wheels with the molded valve stem are a great touch. As for what’s next - health. Figure out how to have fun and not make your hand worse. I had nerve damage in a shoulder many many years ago and had a couple fingers all tingly for probably 10 years. Focus on that and thee rest will sort itself out. Maybe some running vids and things that don’t make your hand worse.

Thanks Trey... I do need to go see someone about this... WOW 10 years, that's gotta suck, And I thought being with the old Ball & Chain for 30 years was tough, LMAO!!! Run videos YES, I need to get out and get some recorded, however, Bob don't do well in the heat anymore. I have a few kits I need to get out & run but one still needs paint work & that means I have to mix my own color for that.
