Superb car with some great attention to detail. Defo yes to oval blocks. Same gun metal springs for the front. If the gearboxes need attention then you may as well replace. Keep the black spotlights as they add to the stealth look. Keep the silver roof as it complements the tower shocks and defo don't paint the roof rails or the driver. Basically the more you paint, the more it distracts from the star of the show, the shell. That all said it's your car so do what you want!

That is absolutely gorgeous, I think you should clean it, check it and prepare a fairly gentle but twisty run for it, with a back to back run against the clock run alongside a mildly tuned hotshot. With some of those lovely upgrades it would be great to see the advantages. Whatever you do it's just not worthy of an empty car park run. Its bloodline and tuning really calls for a safe technical circuit. Beautiful car ❤️

Sound to me like you made your mind up regards the painting. Personally, I loved the fact it was blacked out at the rear when I first seen this. Brings more focus to the shell and wing without it being too busy. Anyway, like you said, it is only your time to sacrifice and if you you really want to try it you will regret not doing it. Great video as always. Cheers

Another late review - what a fantastic looking car Glenn, amazing in metallic red. In the 80s when we raced a Hotshot my dad built a similar chassis in fibreglass from a guide in Radio Race Cars/Model Cars Monthly but then fitted it with a fairly rubbish as they are at the time replica body. Would have loved these upgrades back then but most people at the club swiftly moved onto Optimas, RC10s and then the Schumacher Cat (definitely easier to clean with its undertray and snug body shell as we raced in mud often in the UK). Now keen to get a set of alloys for the new Hotshot I'm building for my 8yo.

Wow, that’s really an fantastic car, there is so much cool stuff in it. Lucas did an fantastic job. Really looking forward to see how your touches will look like, i think it will make it even better, because as you say that rear section is a bit dark. But looking on the motors, please use the rz motor in it or at least when it retires, because that red parts on that motor just fits perfectly to the red chrome body.

Congratulations Glenn, this is a beaut! As for changing things, this is a snap-shot of something that was a good as it gets back in the day, would be awesome to just clean it and leave as is, even down to the tires. It's perfect as it is but deffo needs a clean! You're clearly blown away by it so maybe remember why you fell in love with it and leave it at that my friend. Restore to perfection but nothing more is my vote :) To Ad: Cardon on the roof would look nice. Please don't paint the rear end, as it is it throws the allow arms out..maybe the frame work of the roof which would bring the front and rear together.

Just thought, Glen...you could treat it to a pair of aftermarket TA01 front knuckles/uprights, in alloy. Their dimensions are the same as Hotshot 2 knuckles.
