When my mother died in 1984, I was 24 and went into a deep depression for months. While staring at the TV, flipping through channels, there was Tammy Faye singing. Her beautiful voice and kindness saved my life. I'll forever be grateful to her.

I met Tammy a couple times. I was a manager for an Applebee’s in Matthews NC(Charlotte suburb) in the mid 2000’s. She was always very sweet, and ordered the same desert( a blondie with ice cream). Each time she came in she was skinnier and skinner, and the last time I saw her, she was very frail. She died not much longer after that. She was sweet, and treated everyone around her kindly at the restaurant.

Tammy Bakker was one of the kindest people I've ever met.I was having lunch with my kids at the Blue Bayou at Disneyland. She was sitting at a table next to us with her family. She was wearing a sparkling silver hat &looking even prettier in person.People would keep interrupting her lunch asking 4 her autograph. She didn't mind. She'd put her fork down and sweetly give auotographs. When we were leaving,I had my son go take her pictureShe posed with him.He ran to me saying-Mommy,she's so nice! She was.

When I hear her sing and listen to her speak I feel the overwhelming warmth and love I perceived jesus would have had when I was an innocent little girl. I was touched by the notion of genuine, kind and really really true love for people. The kind of love I imagined and felt in my heart when I was a tiny little thing listening to hyms at church. Im bisexual and I don’t chose to be religious anymore, but whatever Jesus was supposed to mean, she is it. She’s the real honest thing. I love you Tammy

I was alone at college, and one day I was changing channels on TV, and I saw PTL club on, and Tammy was singing, and she touched my heart so much, I was crying and I renewed my relationship with Jesus! But PTL came on at 1pm, so after morning classes, I had lunch and then would watch PTL at 1pm. I just loved Jim and Tammy! They brought me closer to the Lord! Forever grateful! ❤

She and her husband at the time, were scam artists. Materialistic, superficial people who built their lavish and luxurious lifestyle by requesting money from the poor, the elderly, the sick, the desperate....people at the very end of their ropes!! And yet they took every dollar that they could from those people by promising them the same materialistic returns...the Prosperity Gospel as it has come to be known. Do you really think that Jesus wants his flock to own gold-plated toilets and private jets? To me, that's absolutely sickening. Utterly disgusting and shameful.

It's amazing to me how all the kind and sweet words others say about those once they have transitioned. I remember this beautiful personality as well. I do believe she didn't have anything to do operation of the ministry. Somewhere along the way old Jim got greedy, so much money was coming in, he just allowed his greed to take over everything and Tammy became collateral damage. However, I truly believe she is home with theLord.

I recall PTL being on tv back in the 80s. I found it again with the internet. Regardless of what happened with Jim it is a shame heritage usa collapsed. We have nothing else like it that I’m aware of. It seems the intentions were good but money makes people do crazy things. I don’t know the truth only God does. I don’t think Tammy was at fault and was a victim of everything however she stayed faithful and seemed like a genuine person. A Christian does not have to fit a mold and she definitely broke that mold. I enjoy hearing her sing even now. In my heart I know she is in Heaven. Jim’s he’s still on air

Tammy was one of the most genuine Christian ladies to ever walk this planet. Her love for the Lord was manifested in her love for people, ALL people. I had the opportunity to communicate with her on a few occasions, and every contact I had with her was sweet to my soul. She was a blessing to me. Anyone who believes that Tammy was a covetous, selfish or greedy person is a fool. She was anything but. I know from personal experience. I believe the church lost a wonderful soul when Tammy left this world for her promotion to glory. I hope to see her yonder. She surely will make heaven a brighter place as well. (PS - I am a Pentecostal pastor who does not agree with every point of doctrine or practice embraced by Tammy, or even PTL. But I also know that God is a good God, and that His judgments are righteous. I trust Him to do right by every sincere soul that genuinely lives for Him and gives Him their best, walking in whatever light they may have.)

The PTL Club used to be one of my favorite shows. It's such a shame everything had to happen the way it did at the end of all of the scandal. Even though Tammy Faye was a little different, she had a beautiful singing voice and this song she sang, Amazing Grace always lifted my spirit higher than anyone could ever imagine, just like it did now and when I listened to it back in the 80's. I had no idea Tammy Faye had such an enormous and powerful voice, or that she was so itty bitty. What a gorgeous rendition of such a moving song. I'm glad I've actually read up on Tammy Faye and learned about her great compassion and brave stances on showing love to all, especially LGBT people, in a time when they were shunned and demonized by most faith communities. I always lumped her in with her husband and other hypocritical televangelists but there was so much more to Tammy Faye and I'm glad I know her story now. As a side note, people used to age a lot faster than they do today. I thought she was in her 60s here but she's actually in her early 40s. Still beautiful, but just an observation.

There's no one like her today. No one. Tammy Faye influenced Jan Crouch's makeup to a degree. They worked together on TBN back in the early days. Tammy Faye was a sweet soul. Very kind, caring, non judgemental. Now you have Joyce Meyers who truly looks like Joker in Batman but is not so approachable as Tammy Faye was. Joyce also uses the prosperity gospel to help her materialist lifestyle. Tammy Faye was into acting and enjoyed it and was in several shows. Very approachable and liked to dress nice but did not live the fancy schmancy life that Joyce Meyers did.

Jim didn't deserve Tammy Faye after him scamming others out of their money of course. ( I'm firmly believe he manipulated Tammy Fayes saying God wanted them to have the material things of earth), and having an affair with Jessica Hahn (after alledgedly Tammy Faye cheating on Jim). Too God brought her Roe Messner because he knew Tammy Faye needed someone that love for herself not because of her celebrity or out of gain because he loved Tammy Faye for herself.
