Sgt. 1st Class Tracy LeBrecque, you had me in tears in all the same spots The Chicks do. I always sing along, and I always cry. This song is like 20 years old? It just breaks my heart. My husband was a Viet Nam vet who made it home. PTSD plagued him for the rest of his life. Unfortunately the Agent Orange cancer got him in 2016. Blessed be, gods watch over you all.

What is most regrettable is that America's servicemen and women were lied to by their Commander in Chief. That was a violation of a most *SACRED* trust that should exist between any soldier and his commander. Viet Nam, Gulf of Tonkin lie ... Afghanistan ... Invaded before proving what caused the complete collapse of three World Trade Center buildings on the day of 9-11-01 (WTC 1, 2 & 7) , Iraq, based on a lie.

I just wanted to comment on your post. Last week 2023 June I was asked by the widow (and friend) of a Canadian solder to attend her husband’s ceremony. He was to receive the Canadian sacrifice medal (post humous) as he, also, died as result of the agent orange cancer. My husband served with him at their final posting. After 43 years my husband has since retired and he now has a service dog to support and assist through difficult situations. I need to say that the support from the American public, in general, for the military is amazing, I really wish we had that in Canada. We won’t talk about the neglect of the government, it seems to be systemic throughout the world. My husband was honoured to work with some amazing American soldiers, they still call him for support. My thanks✌️🇨🇦

@@kevinrussell1144 , I believe I understand a good bit why so many of my Brothers-inArms are hurting so much. They have been lied to for decades. There is a *SACRED* bond of trust that should exist between any soldier and his commanding officer. You do not ever, knowingly, order a soldier to do what is morally wrong. The greatest help you could give and the greatest respect you could show to America's Servicemen and Women is to make sure that sacred oath is respected and to call out and do what you can to hold any person that lies to a soldier accountable. I have found solace in the Bible and love the teachings of Jesus Christ Christ. I do not call myself a Christian, just try to live by his words. To me, they are words of life, just as he says. I only ask of people that they read them for their own self. If the they do not speak to your heart, there is not one word I could add to them. Just four books of the Bible, Matthew Mark, Luke and John ... King James Version recommended, the New Internal Version is very good. Wishing you the best, physically, spiritually and mentally. 'Old Soldier' (nickname) Dune, still on the battlefield for America and God's truth.

@@kevinrussell1144 Being traumatized is a sad effect of war, Even in WW2, many soldiers had to go to mental wards and treatment afterwards. Actress, Olivia de Havilland talked about it. Military Doctors asked her to visit these soldiers when she went on USO tours.. They said her calm sympathetic personality really helped "shell shocked" vets..

This concert was 3 years ago but I’m just now finding it. I married a Viet Vet who dealt with a brain tumor after coming home, very arthritic hips, and loads of silent suffering. Married now for 43 years. Wives of veterans should be given a pat on the back at the very least for sticking by their veterans side, dealing with all of the issues now from 50+ years ago. Life isn’t easy but there are good times in between the bad. Any Vet who has been in country have seen things we can only imagine. I have been watching a lot of videos on KZbin by The U.S. Army Band and Pershing's Own lately, they bring back a lot of memories. I served on active duty in the Army for 12½-13 years. That is not including Individual Ready Reserve, nor regular Reserves. I had the privilege of listening to different parts/units of The Army Band live and in person, and I always enjoyed it. Since I was a kid I always wanted to learn how to play an instrument, but I do not have the talent, and my fingers are too short for me to play any of the instruments that I would have liked to play. As a result of that, I have always admired those who could play an instrument or could sing. I also have greatly enjoyed listening to and watching live music, in particular The Army Band, as a matter of pride. Thank you for providing me with hours of enjoyment. Sincerely, James H.
