Hoppin John Black-Eyed Pea Jambalaya Recipe:
1 lb or 1 large can of black-eyed peas
4 slices bacon diced
sausage
1/2 cup bell peppers
1/2 - 1cup onions diced
1 celery stalk diced
3-4 garlic cloves chopped
1 tbsp chicken bouillon + 4 cups water or 4 cups chicken broth
2 cups rice
3-4 bay leaves
chili flakes to taste
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp cajun seasoning

Exactly how I make mine. I even add 1 jalapeno pepper, to kick it up a notch. Of course I'm from the South where the best cooks are (Louisiana - the boot state). I love that pot and girl you keep cooking and I'll keep watching. Have a great year in 2024.

I'm from the South, and I've never seen nor heard of Black Eye Peas being cook that way. Plus, I'll eat them, but I've never been that fond of Black Eye Peas, and I usually cook them mainly for New Year. Nevertheless, seeing how that dish turned out I'd be the first one in line plate in hand 😋! I've watched several of your videos bcuz I'm new to the channel, and each one is what I'd call " I've never seen it cooked that way video! I make mine very similar, but I don't drain & rinse the beans...I just dump the whole can in there. I always use Andouille sausage, and for the last 5 minutes cook time I dump in a pound of peeled 15/20 shrimp. I absolutely love jambalaya because aside from minimal prep time it is literally a 30 minute, one-pot meal. And it's delicious! 😋
