can you pleazeee talk about how you rekindled your relationship with your mom? Recently something clicked in me too. I realized all moms are experiencing things for the first time and they are doing the best they know.

Understanding this helped me forgive my mom for all her shortcomings when I was growing up and still to this day. She's only human. Even if our relationship is mostly disfunctional (I am like a mom for her most of the time), there is love between us and that love is valid. I spent so many years wishing I had a 'normal' mom instead of a mom with mental health issues that she was not able nor willing to deal with. When my father passed away suddenly, I realized she's the only parent I have left. So I started to work on my inner anger, sadness and confusion, in order to be able to be more compassionate and understanding with my mom. It will forever be a complex issue, but knowing I am doing my best to evolve and appreciate my mom is enough to bring us peace.
