Hey brother, just moved to st pete right by Oneils marina. Where do you find grouper with different times of year. Like when the waters warm or cold. Deep, shallow, ect

Have you fished the st Pete beach reef? With the army tanks? Is that worth a try?

What's the chance on catching keeper grouper closer to shore (one mile reefs off anna marie)? I've been looking at that Sea Doo Fish Pro jet ski lately (a little bit of fish and play ya know?) and I'm not sure I see myself taking it close to the pipline. I feel like 5-10 miles would be max?

There are some good ledges over there but they got burned by red tide. In a few years....

Question: how do you do it to keep your pin fish alive and not get chew up by other pin fish , BEFORE the grouper can get to it ?
@HeadFirstFishing4 жыл бұрын
I never have that issue.

I was at the skyway pier , toss out a pin fish , after a couple of min , no bites , I reel it in and the eyes, throat, belly were all chew up and the pin fish is dead , so it beats the purpose of live bait . I found out it was other pin fish because I’ve toss another baited pin fish and as it was going down along the piling I saw a whole school of pin fish and other small fish attacking it 🤦🏻♂️ I guess they can sense another fish in distress, wounded or injured (like the dinner bell) .

Are you fishing with weight or freeline?

Without sharing spots, it would be great to learn more about reading the sonar with visuals as you discussed in this video.

Would be nice to actually see the spots you are talking about on a map or google earth or something as opposed to just words. Maybe you can share some of your gps locations.
@HeadFirstFishing4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha yeah the exact coordinates.
@jb56764 жыл бұрын
Yup. That would be perfect!! 😂

No can do my friend, but i promise if you browse around online and with your sonar you'll find it.
