When people talk about the 02 Bucs defense. It's always Sapp, Brooks. lynch, Rice, Barber. But Quarles (MLB) was so underrated during their Superbowl run. He could do it all. I'm watching these videos and he always pop up on watching these games. In the run game, blitz, covering. Crazy how he only made the pro bowl as an alternate that season.

2002 bucs could very well go down as the last team to ever give up less than 200 points in a season, though 2005 bears and 2006 ravens came close... another great rare game mike, tyvm !!!
@bowlchamps377 жыл бұрын
Agree. Giving up 17ppg nowadays is considered a very good defense.

Me personally I think giving up less than 14ppg or 10ppg is a very good defense.

Well, maybe not anymore in todays game. I guess 17pts per game is great. SEA with 14, 15, 16 and 17 pts per game. Looks pretty solid. But I think getting back to under 2 TDs is really tough and therefore even more impressive.

I might be the only person who thinks this, but I think if they beat the Steelers in the wild card, they had a chance to make the AFC championship in 02. Probably weren’t gonna get passed the raiders, but either way.
@JayInHisPrime4 жыл бұрын
@@TheBlackMambaa248 no your not the only one. we dominated that steelers in the wildcard game and gave it away i blame the coaching staff. we couldve gave the raiders a run for there money. i think if holcomb was named the starter after week 1 we couldve went 11-5 12-4. there was a clear difference when holcomb played. the offense just clicked on another level
@TheBlackMambaa2484 жыл бұрын
@@JayInHisPrime Completely agree. Not even a browns fan but I remember the 02 wild card game distinctively. Holcomb was slinging it that year, just couldn’t stop Maddox that day.

This was the game where the on-field temperature was over 105 degrees and right before halftime, my wife and I were walking down the tunnel and she said, “I don’t feel so good.....” and she collapsed from heat exhaustion. The paramedics came and tended to her while I stood with one of the EMTs and his radio is going crazy... “We have fans down in section 114, 115, 118, 220, 222,.....” People were dropping all over the stadium.
