I'm not sure if anyone posted this but if you want to know why this happens, then keep reading. first the lamp burns out and you replace it. Sometimes a generic lamp is different in terms of energy and light output. Therefore the heat from the lamp is greater when it hits the mirrors, at levels that it wasn't tested for. Over time this "glues" the microscopic mirrors. The best way to prevent this is to provide the proper cooling. First clean all dust inside including fans AND the most important is to clean off the thermal grease on the heatsink and replace it with fresh and more efficient silver thermal grease. Not expensive and found easily online and in electronics stores. This allows less heat to remain in the DLP chip and therefore the heat leaves through the heatsink out the fan. Many computer guys would know this and this WILL prevent from buying another DLP chip or at least extend the lifetime. Hope this helps!!!

Very easy to follow, thank you! The only trouble i had was i tried it before i put the lamp.door on. Turns out the lamp door triggers a platic safety switch. So i was just getting a blinking orange light. I put the door on and the tv was fine. Its a blue switch just to the side of the fan. Your video was freat help 5 stars my friend. Go a little slower M on the screws when you pull them out i got a little confused on what screws went where. Thank tou thank you

Thank you, Your comment save me from spending a couple of thousand dollars on another TV I was having Issues with the lamp (Steady red light) so I order one from Amazon and didn't fix the problem, so I order a different one (A bit more expensive, and hopefully better quality) but figure not to put the plastic cover just to save time in case that the new lamp didn't fix the problem. So instead of a steady red light, now I was getting a flashing orange light so I thought the TV had reached his end, But then somehow GOD direct me to read your comment and Voila! TV is working like new. Thank you!!!

Mine just went out for my Mother's TV, so I plan to replace it. The dots were getting bad, but we were just holding on. But, I am going to use your strategies and save some money. Nicer TV's have arrived, but I want to push this one as far as possible. Because Comcast cable box isn't 4k yet, so I'lll upgrade when 4k's get added to our cable box. Again, thank you for really showing us how to save money and protect our family's income. Much appreciated ... Very good job !!!

Hello and Thanks for All you do. I've had DLP TV's for around 20 years now. I just replaced the bulb in the one I have now, Mitsubishi Diamond Series WD-82842, it did burn out. Bought an OEM, worked fine for about a month. My TV, this morning will turn on, but no Video at all, checked the bulb, seems to be fine, no blown filament or glass. Can a bad DLP Chip cause no video or a bad circuit board, or even yet, dust, I have not taken the back out yet? Looking forward to your reply over in Central Florida :)

I did this repair about 7 years ago on a 7 year old LDP TV. I was a little intimidated at first. But the hardest part was making sure I labeled plugs and recorded the disconnection of the plugs to make sure I knew where everything went when putting things back together. One mistake I made, was that I did not screw the DLP lamp door completely closed just in case it did not work and I had to troubleshoot some more. So I plugged the TV in and turned it on and there was NO PICTURE! The TV would not turn on. I assumed I screwed something up with the chip replacement. However, I noticed a yellow light blinking a code on the front of the TV. I looked up the code and saw it was telling me the lamp door was not closed completely. This is a safety feature to prevent you from burning yourself on an extremely hot lamp. When the screw is all the way in, it activates a small safety switch which then allows the TV to turn on normally. I WAS SO RELIEVED and so was my wife. But replacing the actual chip itself was easy. Great video! The TV is now 14 years old and still going strong with a very nice picture. I hope I didn't jinx myself. LOL

If I heard you right, the dits could be caused by a bad connection at the lamp? My lamp went out and I ordered and replaced the bulb. The tv started working almost instantly, but we started getting white dots right away. Then they got worse to where now it looks like your in a snow storm. Could have I caused it? Or should have I replaced the chip at the same time. Also there was a chip that looks like this chip next to the bulb. In fact. Had to remove the chip to remove the bulb. What chip is that?

My 2011 Mitsubishi 65" DLP has worked great thus far. had to replace the bulb one time already, but that;s no big deal. My main issue is that I am hearing a faint whirring sound that cuts off and on like it's a fan winding up and then cutting off over and over again. Could this be a dirty fan, and can I clean like I to my PC tower in order to quiet it down?

Thanks to videos I have replaced a lamp and a chip in the past on my older Samsung DLP TV. But now sometimes (not always, but more frequently lately) when I turn on the TV I can hear sound but the image is stuck looking like one of those computer-generated 3D art images, with the same mish-mash mostly green image repeated in rows and columns. It seems to correct itself eventually by turning off the TV, waiting 10 seconds, and turning it back on. Sometimes It takes multiple on/off cycles and sometimes I wait longer between turning it back on. Sound familiar at all, and is this an issue for replacing the chip or something else? Thanks in advance!

The picture still shows through but it's kinda greyed out. I don't know if both problems are from the same culprit or more than one component is faulty. The tv is probably close to 10 years old. The television then goes through a power cycle where it all starts over again. This process happens for infinity till I unplug the machine or active the safety switch for the lamp housing. Same situation here but with a Mitsubishi but after 1.8 days of continuous use. It shuts off and blinks red constantly or with added fans it just shuts off and stays solid red after replacing the lamp. I just got done cleaning out the entire unit tonight so I am in the process of eliminating dirt and dust build up which would create some problems including this from what people claim on the Internet. So far this is still not a solution though. I will RMA the lamp and then try a new ballast next. If anything works I will let you know. I have searched for hours and found the top 6 things I have found searching for a week are: 1: bad lamp, 2: dirt clogging up or slowing down fans, 3: ballast needs new caps or is damaged, 4: door switch heats up and becomes faulty causing it to stop, 5: the thermal sensor under the color wheel or the color wheel itself needs replacing, 6: resetting lamp timer manually.... I am going to finish testing this to see if I can fix it. If I figure this out, I will post some information.

Tampatec my Mitsubishi wd7373 is doing a few weird things and I need insight as to what may be wrong with it. The screen will randomly make everything have a green tint, sometimes the picture will scroll very fast from side to side or up and down, other times it will shrink the picture down to half of the screen making the other half black and lose color making it black and white. These are all intermittent issues and do not all happen at once. Any help would be wonderful thank you!!

Tampatec Shop Jimmy doesn't have the DMD chip in stock for my Mitsubishi and hasn't for a long time. Where do you recommend I look for one? It's gotten to the point where unless I'm watching a hockey game I can't see anything through the white dots.

And right now the quarter bottom came back to normal with a yellow black tint and now it's flashing again... Any way to contact u

Sounds to me like the screen is going dead from forcing in the wrong vertical or horizontal frequency. The T con board is unlikely as it has horizontal lines.. I had several TVs have that issue in the last 10 years. Sadly most TVs are made very cheap and are likely throw away's within 10 years for many people. try googling a new TV with a low number of complaints regarding equipment failure. It is very hard to find any model right now that is not loaded with 5% complaints or more after being on the market for one year. It is time to buy a new TV for you. Your old one is not worth repairing unless you want to spend $800-$1500 on screen replacement they do not even make anymore..

have you ever fixed a micro sd memory card? i really need your help if you've have...
@TampaTec11 жыл бұрын
if its cracked it maybe permanent if contacts are damaged but most cases its dirty or dust on sd card contacts or dirt inside sd card port preventing good connection so just blow out dust inside port, but some sd cards have lock switch to prevent deleting data.
