I’ve never heard of orangeburg until today awesome jet work
@DrainPros4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt! Yeah it’s keeps us busy up in the northeast, we’re loaded with it in the ground. It’s a shame for the homeowners though because they cant just dig one spot but have to excavate and replace of of the orangeburg.

I used to work for this company and we would lower cameras into the manholes on the streets to take video and pictures of the drainage and sanitary lines. The city would contract us and then they would get an idea of what infrastructure was like and what needed to be repaired. My job was to pop the manhole cover, lower the camera down and constantly try to angle it and place it precisely so the operator in the van could take the video and the picture. One day we opened up a man hole, and it was about 10 feet deep with a sanitary line about 2 feet in diameter running through. We found a blockage so large we had to report it. It was a massive pile, about 6 feet high of shit, baby wipes, tampons, toilet paper etc. The entire street had been contributing to this blockage for quite some time it looked like. I was blown away by how massive this was. And i was so glad we didn’t have to deal with that lol. Hats off to you guys who are in this line of work, someone’s gotta do it

I was raised in a family of all men an they always make me feel so little an embarrassed when I’m on my period they don’t provide any type of trash can for me to discard an I’m just now knowing you can’t flush pads my toilets overflowing I told everyone it was just poop an I’m so embarrassed if a plumber comes out at snakes out my pad I deliberately put in there 🙁

great video, but I think you found Rati's bed and food stash, lol! But a legit question, how well does the old orangeburgh hold up to jetting?
@DrainPros4 жыл бұрын
Scott McLaughlin Not very well! We used the smaller orange hose for that reason with less psi about 2500. If we hose doesn’t keep moving at all times inside the orangeburg it would chew the side of pipe up and leave chunks missing. The home owner on this one knows it’s just a matter of time before the pipe needs to be replaced

Do we have boundary traps here in the U.S.?
@DrainPros4 жыл бұрын
Tracy Bowling I know there’s quite a few in the south east and out west. We have barely any up in the northeast. Usually you see them in places where the city sewer is shallow and areas that don’t have basements!
@jeddavis84684 жыл бұрын
@@DrainPros They are common in eastern Pennsylvania and Philadelphia. They are called curb traps there. In Australia where I live now they are called boundary traps. Drain Addict shows plenty of them in his videos. In New York City there are house traps inside the basement. I'm originally from Reading, PA and every house and building there has 2 adjacent sewer caps by the curb with one having vent slots or 2 vent pipes with mushroom caps in the yard with a trap below. Philadelphia has 1 slotted vent by the curb and San Francisco has similar vents and traps by the curb too. Great videos by the way. I'm newly subscribed to your channel. Plumbing is quite different in the land down under. Toilets themselves rarely clog here and plungers which are so commonly seen next to toilets in the US are never seen in next to an Aussie toilet. Aussie toilets have a much larger drain passageway and they don't syphon like American toilets do.

@DrainPros4 жыл бұрын
The well usually is on the opposite side of the house as the septic tank. Usually you take a bottle of water and drop it off at a water testing/filtration company to test.. ours typically cost $15-50 depending on how in-depth we need the test to be👍
