Thanks Strays! It’s pretty common for us to see at least some reminisce of the previous clog... usually it’s wipes and tampons sitting in a pile. Sometimes I think it’s one plumber leaving it there for the next guy to know hey it’s most likely a clog of wipes! 👍

The corn that’s second hand corn. Back in the 1990s sewer backed up at Cartersville Cracker Barrel restaurant. I was a dishwasher and floor drains started flooding. The restaurant was the lowest point of anywhere and so everything from motel 6 the Waffle House Shoneys and the Hampton was coming back up on us everything that was flushed . They had to close and call a restoration company to clean the back of the house. City had a main line clog so the city had to clean it out at the manhole 🕳 it was balls of plastic bags in the line causing a major clog.

Do you use the sewer machine only? I never see anyone using a metal sewer tape in drain videos and it baffles me. Wrap wires with gaps in between around the head creating a ball and it will catch roots wipes and everything else for the most part. I don't understand blasting a stopped up pipe with more liquid and in the process making more of a mess, unless absolutely necessary.

Have you thought about converting your jetter heads to snap connectors like Ollie (Drain Addict) uses?
@azmrblack4 жыл бұрын
Two possibilities on that - first most likely: They are using 1/2 inch or larger hose (looks like 3/4), and at 2500 PSI+, the snap connectors may not (probably won't) have enough strength or may not be advisable, or they don't make them for that size hose.

I'm not one for adding lots of regulations from the government, but when someone is a landlord and they are making money off providing living space to other people I think they should have it at least be sanitary, this one clearly gives no crap about the property falling apart and the not just sewage in the basement but the other rotten junk down there. A draining drain is just the bare minimum you guys came out to do.

I understand that they needed those building sewer traps years ago because of the way most of the fixtures in the building didn't have a trap on them. The way things are now, why do they still have these things? Aren't they a breeding ground for nasty bugs, bacteria, and other unmentionables? Just don't understand why they still exist...
@DrainPros4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s definitely a head scratcher for sure Andrew. Most of the ones we see now a days we end up ripping out and installing straight pipe. Each fixture is required to have there own trap now a days so it doesn’t make any sense. We’re lucky that our area doesn’t require them but I know a lot of municipalities still do. 🤦♂️
@azmrblack4 жыл бұрын
Just like Drain Pros stated it was code for many years and a holdover from Victorian times - you see ALOT of these in British homes too, but they are buried in the ground and called "Interceptors" while here we call them house traps. They were for the sewer gas, and also rats they were afraid of. For some reason, some plumbers will still replace like for like - even Balkan Sewer (same state as these guys) replace like for like instead of straight pipe. They cause a lot of problems in older buildings. The only reason I can see replacing like for like is if the building still had untrapped (such as sinks) fixtures. But even then it's a cheaper fix to put in a p-trap...
