Watching Pose, I experienced so many emotions. My mother passed from AIDS when I was 13yrs old (in 1997) & the way she was treated by family, friends, doctors, etc broke my heart. As a child I didn't fully understand the magnitude of what was going on. I just remember being told by a doctor that "your mom is going to die." From that day forward I was scared to leave her side or sleep because I was constantly checking to make sure she was still breathing. There were times when I did act out & be mean to her not knowing how to express my true feeling & I carry alot of guilt for that to this day. I can't even began to imagine what she must have been going through knowing she was dying & leaving behind 3 children. I have a 7yr old & one of my biggest fears I dying before she's old enough to fend for herself. Starting the series it didn't dawn on me that HIV/AIDS would be a pivotal part of the dialog but I'm so glad it was. Ive had yrs of counseling & thought I was "over it" but the show forced to go to the depths of places I tried yrs to avoid & deal with those emotions.

I know God is Love and he loves us all but Billy Porter could be a great vessel used by God if he would come to sincere repentance. One thing I noticed he said is that as a kid he heard he would get AIDS or homosexual’s would get AIDS and he would go to hell if he doesn’t leave the lifestyle. That prophecy over his life has come true. He has AIDS but is he waiting to see if the hell part is true? We preach God’s love but we have to be fair and balanced and preach repentance too. Living this lifestyle got him sick but thank God he’s still here. True love is teaching the younger generation don’t make the mistakes I made and telling them to come to repentance.
@junodonatus49063 жыл бұрын
@@oforimensah4711 Didn't you see the episode of Pose where he goes back to visit his family one last time before he dies? If his family and the church did not cast him out he wouldn't have been young, lost, and confused. If they had accepted him and nurtured him he probably wouldn't have gotten aids in the 1st place. So yes it's a self fulfilling prophecy, the church talks against contraception and they don't want education or acceptance of homosexuals. Therefore young men and women are left to find their own way, too young and often they fall victim too disease or suicide. Your god and his church are not "love." It is strict conformity to outdated attitudes.
@junodonatus49063 жыл бұрын
@@oforimensah4711 ...speaking of which, Billy Porter is already a great vessel against those outdated attitudes, as he certainly put the church in its place during the episode I mentioned. 👍
@junodonatus49063 жыл бұрын
@@oforimensah4711 You should also know that foreign governments under the influence of Christian missionaries imprison homosexuals for life and even murder them. Add to this that those same missionaries oppose contraception you have an environment created by them in which developing countries are more prone to widespread disease. Then people like you turn around and blame "sin."

Only GOD can condemn and if more Christian and Bible believers would read scripture instead of buffeting the Holy Bible they will have a real relationship with the LORD GOD. Instead of judging people or gossiping about people they would correct people in love no matter what someone or wrong doing is. What GOD did say about sin in the New Testament that one sin is not greater than the other. For anyone teaching the Holy Bible, teach Scriptures and not how to take what you want from the Bible like it’s a buffet. The buffeting of the Bible Scriptures why some non Believers thought the Bible contradicted itself. When the Word does not the Bible teaches on changes that were made over time from one generation to another, but someone who is depending on someone else, including a Christian church leader to read and explain the Holy Bible to them then it will be very difficult for such a person to be able to discern what the LORD GOD is saying and teaching in HIS Word.
