Congratulations on the move that it went well, on your new place, your new studio. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your ESTY shop and starting your website. I am struggling to start 'something' I think that I am overthinking everything. You watch people who are doing great and you get scared to start and then you watch someone who is not doing well and you are afraid to start. Then you want to pick the right thing to do, right way to start, right web host and on and on... Love your videos!

For example, your heat press, mug press, engraver, printers, etc? And your thoughts about them - pros/cons, do you regret/love your choice, things you wish you knew then that you do now, etc. Those of us who are thinking of pursuing some or all of your skills as a business or a hobby, I think it would be really helpful. Maybe a future Q&A?

Haha. My husband is addicted to diet pepsi. I have! A couple of them are the 12 x 12 but I just don't glue them to that they stay easy to store or spread as needed. I probably will invest eventually on a more professional setup lol

I'm moving into my new studio/ home in a few months.. I'm so excited and watching this video made me even more excited!! I'm moving from GA to NC so it's even more exciting. I want a laser printer but my studio will be my garage. I'm having to get a service door instead of a window but I don't know how that's going to work. It being in my garage will definitely separate me from family life and work. Now it's in our living room and all I do is work bc I'm always seeing it 🤦🏾♀️
@TanaMakes3 жыл бұрын
How exciting! Congrats! Definitely great to have a completely separate work space. If you can't vent it outside, you may need to invest in the filter.
@stacyanthony71483 жыл бұрын
So, I found you a few months back because I have wanted to add a glowforge to my surplus of crafting tools. I really love the though of cutting out the large words that people use on wreaths or to hang on the wall. Anyways, how do you vent it through the window? My work room has windows but none that open. My house was built in like the 40s so the windows have been painted over many times before I bought this house. Also, did you find yourself getting many orders on etsy? I mostly sell on my FB business page. FB has been getting uglier by the day so I was contemplating moving over to etsy. I currently make shirts, hairbows, tumblers, face masks, among many other things. I have always been up for a challenge. I am LOVING the lighting in your studio!!!
@TanaMakes3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I literally just stick the hose out the window lol. Definitely not the most professional but usually people build boards the width of their window with a hole the size of the hose to attach the hose to, then every time they open the window, they just wedge the board with the already attached hose. If you can't open your windows then it seems the only choice would be to get the filter they offer. I did get a lot of orders from Etsy. I highly recommend it if you don't have a large audience to survive through your own website as etsy brings in a ton of customers and you can basically get orders without doing anything other than making sure your listings and photos are really good and informative.

You can get larger paper (like 18x24”) for photo flat lays pretty inexpensively from an art store - usually sold in loose leaf toned drawing paper area. 🙂 Love your new studio!

@@TanaMakes Might be a regional thing I’m not sure, but usually the 12x12 is in the scrapbooking section of Michael’s but the big individual sheets of colored paper are usually in the back of the fine art/drawing section in like a stack/flat file thing. 😊

@TanaMakes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! No, I don't have a video on that as the way I take an edit them is pretty unconventional. I use my phone, Bluetooth drop them to my computer, and edit in photoshop basically the same way you'd edit in Lightroom. I highly recommend using the Lightroom app on your phone to edit them and you can even buy presets to give your images a similar look and feel.
