What's wrong with the engine he's running now? I'd be happier and prouder running that one knowing I built it and the thing rips! You don't need 700 hp to have a fast drift car plus I think Taylor is limited by the tire size he can run. He can't run the big 265s or whatever most of the guys like Adam LZ run so he doesn't need more power than he has. Pretty sure that little miata doesn't have the room for them. I've heard them talk about how he runs a different tire than everyone else because he can't fit the same tire as them.

a/c tensioners are very common to fail in those trucks, if you throw another belt i'd definitely replace that next

You need a bigger pulley on the power steering pump to slow it down so your not cranking p-max at red line and frying the pump from cavitation at extended periods of high rpm

It always baffles me how many very smart people don't put bigger pulleys on their race cars accessories. It's so simple, frees up power, reduces wear and heat, and costs very little.

Bruh you don't make any money driving in fd in fact you'll spend 10x more than grassroots and that's even with sponsors. Then you have go up against the same top guys with teams with million dollar programs and 5 spare engines, gearboxes that can go through in one single weekend. There's a reason why the top dogs are on top. As you can see in lz's that he's clearly not having any fun competing in fd like he does at other competitions. It's not as great as ppl think it is and this is coming from a guy building a pro 2 car right now...

Arguably Taylor is better then adam lz at drifting. Taylor is way smoother in his transitions and easier on the handbrake. If you notice, Adams footage is really shakey and he hits his handbrake way more often.

Just watching you on the track with that much power, totally Crazy. Because of the size of the car, wheel base, overall length, weight of car. A normal Hellcat car has a power/weight ratio that can handle the hellcat engine, but to stick that in a Miata totally Insane.

Have you considered doing reverse NACA ducts in the tiny windows up front? You could reduce a little weight swapping to poly instead of glass and it would pull more heat out of the car while you are driving. For the starter an LS7 one should give you a bit more clearance and some heat wrap will help avoid cooking it. I also would love to see the fastback style hardtop on your car to give it that spoon-esk S2000 look and help a bit with drag but I know that's barely a thing in drifting.
