First time loading 17 went in fine…had to really force the 18th in and that made the spring pop into alignment and it works great now.

I just installed these on 4 of my mags. The install was effortless but loading is not as easy. I use the mag loader that came with my TX22. It runs and feeds great. 2 thumbs up!

I had this issue too. If you put them under the spring where it looks like they go, it will only hold 20 rounds and fail to feed often… if you take it out it fits the 21 perfectly, but mine still won’t feed for shit for some reason.

@@testhim7773they drop onto the underside of the magazine follower and then you put the spring on top. They should have put instructions in, I don’t know why they didn’t update the video. I had to really force the 18th round into mine and then the spring popped into alignment and the rest of the rounds went in easy.

I lost a spring, called Taurus and wanted to buy a spring, but they don't sell them. Instead they sent me another magazine free of charge, albeit they sent me a 15nround instead of a 16 round mag. Found the spring abt a week later in a slightly open closet (what a spring shot) so it was a free mag for me. Taurus has great customer service, but bad repair wait times. Hope they help you too.

Just received two, rather quickly I might add. I put together by just looking at the extensions, rather easy. Watched this instruction video on silent just to verify ease. I did dab thread lock cause I’m a dork, they screw into plastic so probably won’t matter. Quick function test on all 21 rounds worked well on both mags with dry run, drops free and matches the plastic rather well on the Taurus. True test this weekend. Did not use shims, but if needed they match the shape of where they go, so no biggie. Of note…. I used these on two 10 round mags. Also, the rounds go in with no more difficulty than the 16 rounders. If you do have trouble, you need to load and unload multiple times to build up finger strength- couple times a week; no offense- just truth. For the money, these are a great deal. Will order more.

Just installed mine Awesome. My last few rounds don't cycle well when I manipulate the slide manually. Does the spring need to break in? Shouldn't the base have a place for the spring to surround? Thanks for your product. I'm probably just worrying too much. Will find out this weekend when I finally get to take it to the range. UPDATE: Still doing it in the 8 out of 10 mags I used. Still hope it's a break in thing, I really like the idea of having 21 rounds in my TX22.

Yes! The follower buttons are what prevent the follower piece from going into the basepad and giving you the additional capacity.

Got lucky and was able to order TX22 10 round version. The 16 round version is hard to get now. My state dose not have the ridiculous limitation on magazine capacity. Now the question, will 10 round magazine be extended to 15 or to 21? Thanks!

But by comparing the 10 round mag to 16 round one, the 10 round one has the follower stopped in the middle of the mag, while the 16 round one has it all the way to the bottom of the mag. I guess the design is different.

@@Leongreat I believe it's the follower button and not the follower itself that's being blocked in the 10 round mags. You take the button out to install the "Wingman" and thus bypass the blockage and get the full 21 rounds. HOWEVER I could be wrong. We don't have any ten round mags at TK headquarters to test it on. I'm just going off of what our customers have told us about their own experiences installing it on a 10 round mag.

Pro: Not as difficult as some make it to be. All the info is available on KZbin or install links. Makes my natural grip feel comfortable.. Cons:. Leads to upgraditis. I'm already looking to do something else for this fun little pistol. Using the Taurus supplied mag loader is almost necessary to avoid damaging the shell cases while loading.

Followed the "Bill from Tandemkross" instructions on the KZbin video for making my 13 round original mag for my TX22 compact becoming 18 rounds w/wingman +5. The problem is the "new" mag still only holds the original 13 rds! What gives?! I plan to take it apart a & reassemble. Any suggestions or advice. Has anyone else had this problem?

Did you remove the follower button? The follower button removal step is crucial to follow, as if its installed the follower will still be restricted by the track of the magazine body. Let us know if this helps!

The follower will bottom out at the end of the track with the button installed, so to have the benefits of extra rounds the follower will need to go below the track and into the bumper.

The follower button will stop the follower in the same position as it would pre-bumper, removing it allows the follower to go into the bumper base allowing the +5 configuration. You can then load it as you would without pushing the follower down, but we've also seen people use tools or even a chamber flag to push the follower down for speed loading!

They go between the end of the spring and the follower. When the TX22 Wingman first came out, a handful of customers complained of feeding issues or losing last round hold open. So we started shipping them with those plastic shims to help alleviate those issues.

Those are shims for the mag spring. A small number of customers reported last round feeding issues not long after we first released the product, so we started including those shims with ever order in case customers experienced that. They go between the spring and the follower, with the cylindrical piece on the bottom of the follower going through the hole in the shim, and the flat side of the shim towards the middle of the follower.

Hand tightening should be fine, but if you'd like to be sure they wont go anywhere sure thing! These are built to last, so as long as you aren't going to make bumper swaps on the fly, go for it!

Those are shims that go under the ends of the springs. We started shipping them with the bumpers after receiving customer feedback. We recommend you install them but your mags may be perfectly functional without them. They're not in the video because they weren't part of the product when the video was originally made. You didn't mention if this modification disables the slide lock after the last round is fired. I do not like to dry fire my rimfire pistols so this is a critical bit of information for me.

It does not disable the last round hold open. There is a scene at 1:03 in the video where 21 rounds in a row are fired and the pistol locks open at the end, but we could have specifically called that point out. You're right, it could have been clearer.

@@edledoux2788, I found this to be the issue only when using the supplied spacer. It was causing enough binding that in one of the mags, the spring couldn’t get the flower up completely. In the other, it would engage the slide lock. Neither popped out of the mag well when released. Removed the spacer, and both mags work just as well as they did with the stock base plates.

I just received 2 new Taurus mags and a package of 2 mag extensions. The new improved version with shims from TK. The mags are fine as far as I can tell without firing. The extensions are not. The shims are too big to go into the mag. Bandaid fix didn't work. Tried to put one mag together without bandaid, result was bent spring. Gave up, sent back to be thrown away. No more TK products for me. 👎 !!!!

I see the overwhelming majority of people love these, but nothing in the world would make them work in the 4 different mags I tried them with even with sanding down every little burr and trying everything under the sun. Might just be my gun....it isn't all that reliable with anything over 10 rounds loaded in the factory mags either but these just make the rounds present at the wrong angle no matter what is tried....

@@dantediego they'll probably still work without the shims, actually. Some customers were reporting feeding issues, and the shims basically compress the spring a little more so that it pushes harder and feeds better. We include them in every package, but that doesn't mean every mag will actually need them. If you already installed them without the shims, try shooting them like that and see how it goes. If you have feeding issues, try reinstalling them with the shims. And you can download text instructions from the product page that are up to date and include the shim.

Nope! The only feature you lose with the extension is the follower button as it bottoms out. So just load it like any mag without a follower button. Consistent and easy to load until you hit max capacity.
