TANDEMKROSS - "Victory" trigger for TaurusTX™ 22 - Install Instructions

Great job on the instruction video, Bill. Following your directions, I put the Tandemkross Victory trigger, as well as the lighter spring, on my Taurus TX22 Competition SCR and I am very pleased with the results. I am getting a consistent 2# pull and, after taking the trigger assembly out a few times for fine tuning, I have the trigger take up and after pull right where I want them. I did have 2 small issues I would like to mention here in case anyone has the same situation. During reassembly, I could not get the rear (safety) assembly into position. It turns out there is a barrel or bushing around the second from the rearmost pin and if that bushing protrudes, the module will not go in. Also…I had the trigger rear stop set too low and, after reassembly, I realized I could not pull the trigger far enough to release the firing pin, which is necessary for normal disassembly. I had to punch out the pins and remove the slide/barrel with the trigger assembly attached and separate them outside the firearm.

I just installed the Victory trigger in my TX22 last night after watching your video. It was easier than expected. The trigger is an absolutely fantastic upgrade over the gritty, long take-up factory trigger. The reset is so short and crisp! Thanks for the very helpful video! For anyone attempting this install, go to Harbor Freight and get a set of punches and a mallet/body hammer like the one used in this video. They don't cost much and make knocking out those pins much easier.

While the install looks a little daunting, the hardest part was actually removing the roll pins. Everything else was fully covered in the video and it went very well. Great job Bill !!!! Thank you for the time you put into the video and the awesome products for the TX22.

Well I went ahead and ordered the victory trigger and extended mag release for my tx22 and just installed them today, I really like the extended mag release but feel I wasted 50 bucks on the trigger. It's not as smooth as the factory trigger and didn't reduce trigger pull weight at all but I am still happy with the victory trigger and hammer I installed on my s&w victory. Trigger went from 3.8 lbs to 2.1 lbs.

I agree trigger feel is not any better than factory , (actually feels gritty ) seems to have increased my pull weight , I will be taking it apart and doing some minor polishing . I might buy the TX22 SAO Short Stroke Trigger and give it a shot. the trigger is the the worst I have on any 22

Thank you for making this video. I came upon it for a different reason, I was looking for a video that explained how to remove the the trigger group as I am having an issue with the slide stop on a new TX22 Compact. Tons of videos on how to field strip, but this was the only one that went further and clearly explained how to remove the trigger group. Thanks!

Also to watch for while doing this task, with the trigger group removed, when you grab the "lower" to reinstall the trigger group, DO NOT knock the slide lock loose, the spring that holds it in position will grow wings and fly away, I had to modify a pen spring in order to reassemble my pistol as I am waiting on a factory replacement

Install went just as video did. Feels great. Once its done, I cant quit looking at that 1st screw with nylon tip down. It just looks like its in upside down. No way to run it in the other way though.

I love tandemkross products I have over 300.00 in my victory 22 and am happy with everything I've installed especially the tandemkross trigger and hammer but the tx22 trigger is crisp but has a little catch in it and didn't reduce pull weight at all. I have taken it out and installed 3 times with no change I am beginning to wonder if my frame could be out of spec.

Great video! Install is straight forward. My factory trigger was very gritty, long travel, stagey, all sorts of things going on. Once I installed and adjusted the trigger, both overtravel and take up, the trigger is much improved. Definitely worth the install. You do have to adjust it for the short take up and fast reset. Would like to have a different spring to reduce the weight. But, I think it will get better with use. Thanks TandemKross!

I do have one question you didn't cover, what do the set screws change and in what way? I'm assuming the further out they are the shorter the reset and release?? I've always wondered but never needed to adjust em, figured here was a good place to inquire Haha Thanks in advance!! Thanks for the GREAT video. I was able to install the trigger very quickly. I do have a question. On the over-travel screw, you state that it is assessable while installed. I need to reduce my overtravel, but I don't see any way to access that screw. Am I missing something?

I finally installed the Victory trigger in my TX-22 competition last night. With the pre-travel screw adjusted to have no pre-travel, I can now no longer remove the slide from my gun. Any thoughts on that? Furthermore, in my opinion the pre-travel (shorter) screw should be installed with the nylon tip up. If installed as instructed in the video, what is the point oh the nylon tip? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hey again, Michael. The trigger does need some pretravel for proper function and reliable resetting. What is likely happening right now is when the trigger is pulled to take the slide off the frame, the striker block is popping up (which is normal), but there is too much tension on the connector bar for it to drop down and that is stopping the slide from being pushed forward on the rails. If your slide will not come off normally, you can rack the slide and then take the striker plate off the rear of the slide and remove the striker assembly from the back. These parts will be under spring tension. After that, you can take the slide off by pulling the catch down and you will not have to dry-fire the pistol. Once you back the pre-travel out a bit, then you will not need to do that again. For the pre-travel screw, that screw is nylon-tipped so that the screw point does not scratch the anodizing on the trigger. If you would like to remove the nylon tip, you can pull the tip off with some pliers, but it could allow the tip of the screw to gouge the trigger. Give us a call if you need help [phone]

Been watching this video since I bought my TX22 2 months ago. After almost 2K rds I decided to order this trigger. Rec"d today and about 20 minutes and re-watching this video I am done and satisfied with the install and feel. The only thing and don't remember prior, is if this guns safety only operates with the slide racked. After install I was making sure safety would engage but only if I rack the slide. Is it normal operation?

How much does this trigger reduce the trigger pull weight in the tx22. I don't see it mentioned anywhere. I just put the victory trigger and thunder hammer in my s&w 22 victory and went from 3.8 lbs to 2.1 lbs and am very happy with it.

My TX22 doesn't have a manual safety. How hard will it be to get the rear block out without it?

It will come out the same way, but however you will not have either a trigger safety or manual safety so that is important to consider.

I sure did, really had to hammer them hard with a different punch. They were super tight, I unfortunately hurt the frame a little by the included punch bending. Whoever needs to see this it’s just Taurus some are tighter than others, buy a different punch

To decrease pretravel you do want it to stick out higher at the top of the trigger shoe, but you have to turn it counterclockwise to do that. Since it screws down into the trigger shoe from the top, loosening it is what will make it protrude further out of the top.
