when Koreans do Okinawan forms from Okinawa which is common in certain styles of taekwondo and particularly common in tong sudo they just don't seem as crisp and sharp and powerful.I don't mean to be disrespectful but they almost look kind of sloppy in comparison to the Okinawan version of the same katas.

@Katcom1116 жыл бұрын
In simple terms, Tang Soo Do is basically a mixture of chinese and japanese influence. Depending on the organization, I know that Soo Bahk Do formerly know as tang soo do use strong, deep stances as in Shotokan Karate, while also emphasizing a very active use of the hip to help generate force in each movement performed. It is known for its vast array of kicks, a hallmark of Korean martial arts. The circular construction in their system is also influenced by northern chinese martial art. I believe most korean martial art in ancient times has a big influence in northern Chinese martial art.

I practice Tang Soo Do. We focus on forms, stances with strong kicks and punches. Taekwondo is know for its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, with fast accurate kicking techniques.

Taekwondo is more focused the sport and flash. It has desperately tried to break away from the japanese influence in order to become a completely unique Korean art.

When it comes to Korean karate meaning of the Okinawan karate Masters don't look at Korean martiael art on the same level as their Okinawan martial arts. Some believe whatever degree a Korean black belt is you subtract not one, but two levels take away whatever that Korean black belt is and that's where he would be compared to a Okinawan black belt. Although I I am involved in Korean karate. I have been exposed to some Okinawan karate and find it is in fact much more practical, practical and par four way I'm doing karate. I also have learned that all systems of karate come by way of China open hour and then lastly Korean. Finally, mini crane arts involved too much reliability on. Just kicking but high kicking in some cases which is totally unsustainable as we age because the hip ball sockets become degenerative with inflammation and arthritis builds up and many practitioners of this style of fighting end up needing hip replacements as they get older and then cannot kick above the waist. learning techniques that are not sustainable in your older years without injuring yourself severely to wear you destroy your ability to do basic functions like walking sitting and turning in different directions in your range of motion suffering..
