The reason you have a good time in Mexico is that you always have your sense of humor! When traveling in Mexico do not leave home without your sense of humor, or stay in the American resort places. Mexican people are different. Enjoy... no, live the difference. Don't have a sense of humor? You will not embrace Mexico.

We are going back August 1st for my husband's birthday. We just got back from Acapulco. We always watch your videos before we go. Really enjoyed the Taxco one. All these points you have made here are totally correct. Also to add, just try to speak Spanish, they appreciate the effort and they will even help you with the words. Also, the Italian food and pizza is the best I have ever had. I think it is because the restaurants and owners are actually from Italy. We are in Quintana Roo still, but looking to move elsewhere. Saludos! There is actually a form of sour cream which I finally found, it’s called crema ácida. Not quite the tang of sour cream, but pretty close. I even found a cream labeled “sour cream” in an upscale supermarket. Crema is a form of cream we don’t use either I’m sure you have tried and then their is crema batida o crema para batir for making whipped cream. It’s very hard to whip even though it’s think. The whip cream comes in an aerosol can or crema de chantilly in a small tub. When I first moved to Queretaro, I went nuts looking for items like these, horse radish sauce, but in time it’s almost, almost all here.....at a cost

Just a little thing , "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" would translate to "United Mexican States" not "United States of Mexico", that would be "Estados Unidos de México", the only places that officially have "México" in their name are Mexico City, the State of Mexico and... New Mexico lol. There were attempts to change the official name to the country to just "Mexico" but it never got enough interest in the congress.

Maddie, No worries about "Tex Mex" cuisine. It's good to let people visiting from the U.S. and Canada know that real Mexican cuisine is varied and complex. A lady on the plane asked me where I was from and I said America and she immediately corrected me...We’re also Americans (Chileans, Argentinians, Colombians, etc. are from South AMERICA) (Mexicans, Belizeans, Hondurans, etc from Central America)... you get the drift... so now I tell people I’m from Texas and get no flack (although they ask if I own a horse 😂).

Chimichangas are from Arizona not Texas. Just so ya know!! Not all Mexican food in the USA is Tex-Mex. Taco Bell style crunchy tacos and those huge overstuffed burritos are Cal-Mex. In northern Mexico you will see tacos dorados which are made by filling a corn tortilla, folding it, and then placing it in a pan with a small amount of manteca or veg oil but they're not deep fried. Tex-Mex, Sonoran or southwest cuisine like in Arizona or New Mexico, and Cal-Mex are all great fusion cuisines in the American border states and all three of them are distinct regional American cuisines where the foods of our states combines with the food of the northern Mexican states with wonderful results!!

@@garza0073 Well.... If you were to ask Ignacio Anaya down there in Piedras Negras, Coahuila WAY back in the day (1940) he'd tell ya that his nickname - Nacho became famous because he created a totopo (snack) that he put together for some American wives whose husbands were stationed between Carrizo Springs, TX and the Border. They drove over to have dinner and drinks but the kitchen had closed down so Ignacio in a brilliant stroke of genius turned on the deep frier, tossed some corn tortillas in to make tostadas, topped them with cheese and jalapeno slices, finished them under a salamander (gas broiler) and served them to the American military wives. Word got out on our side of the Border about this new food & a legend was born!! My whole point is that that our regional border cuisines wouldn't exist without such wonderful regional culinary diversity and ingenuity. And REAL Border cuisine affects and enriches both sides. It's incorrect to call all of it Tex-Mex##

I think chimichangas were invented in Arizona as a variation of the burrito, tipical food from Sonora. Come to Hermosillo, you won`t find chimichangas, but a good range of different types of burros. Saludos!

@@Imrapatton Hi Irma! Yes me too. We would make chivichangas at home actually, we called them like that. Surprisingly, yesterday I saw them in a menu. But I don´t remember having seen them in a restaurant in Hermosillo before. You CAN find chimichangas after all, but they are not as big as the ones in Arizona. Burros "percherones" on the other hand are more popular. Maybe, you´re right and I haven´t been paying attention.

Hola chicos! I've been watching your videos for years now and love every one! I was glad though you finally brought up the importance, or at least the awareness, that people from the U.S. are not the only people who identify as "Americans"...it's a misnomer! It's an important thing for people to conceptualize. más, i didn't notice that pizza was everywhere when i was living there, (i was in veracruz and don't recall pizza very much) i definitely remember seeing WINGS everywhere. wingstop, mr. wings, hot wings, wingstreet...my friends said they're everywhere in CDMX at least because those places tend to have good promociones on beer!

I've heard of this "American" debate so many times and can't believe people still didn't figure out a simple thing: meaning of words is defined in the language they belong to. "American" in American English means citizen of the USA, full stop. "Americano" en español means a person living somewhere in America, North, South or Central. Both words have the right to exist in the realm of their own language with their own definitions, which are different. "I am American" is translated to Spanish as "soy estadounidense", not as "soy americano". P.S. Love your videos, always watch them, thanks!

Queretaro is a really nice city and I'm sure you will like it there. It has been a get away city for people from CDMX now for years. It used to be Cuernavaca, but now Qro. is growing by leaps and bounds. Lots of good panaderias there too. They just built a huge mall in the outskirts of the city which is quite nice. A great video as usual, and have fun in Qro.
