Tangerine Travels It's not because they see you with bad thoughts, because in Guadalajara there are beautiful women everywhere, it's rare to see North Americans in a popular Mexican canteen, but Americans usually regulate finer bars since they seem to be from a lower world😂😂😂

In México, each región has its version of "tequila" which is a unique version of a fermented drink made out of what grows in that particular region... Jalisco=Tequila Oaxaca=Mezcal Chihuahua=Sotol Sonora=Bacanora Some other place=Lechuguilla... Hay muchas variedades de "tequila" (fermented agave - looking type of plants)
@TangerineTravels
@TangerineTravels 6 жыл бұрын
Fascinating. We had no idea there were so many names for it! We only knew of Tequila and Mezcal
@DobleD1997
@DobleD1997 6 жыл бұрын
They are not exactly the same thing, though, each one of those are fermented and produced with a very specific type of agave plant (there are around 200 different ones). And the making process can also vary, so the taste is actually different. Tequila, for instance, can only be made with the *blue agave* specifically, and it *must* be done in the Tequila region, otherwise it can't be named tequila since it is protected with the *designation of origin.* Much the same way Champagne can't be produced outside of the Champagne region.

What a cool experience, regarding to the "free food" in the cantinas, according to my dad he said that is very usted to "give food" like a generous quantity if you order alcohol. They will never charge you the food, is like "included" in your consumption of alcohol in the cantina. He told me that in his student days back in the 60's he and his friends never had enough money to eat so they went to the cantinas order alcohol in order to eat like a lot of food. And for what I heard it seems that this is the same mechanic of food in the cantinas.
@TangerineTravels
@TangerineTravels 6 жыл бұрын
How interesting... it did seem like they were happy to continue bringing more plates of food the longer we stayed and ordered drinks. Seems like a pretty great deal, especially for broke college kids. We remember those days :)

Like wines in France the name Tequila is protected by law and comes only from Jalisco. Like wine there are many grades and variations, most peculiar to a specific distiller. Liquor is made every where else in Mexico from the agave plant with regional names. The most common is Mezcal.

Yes make a video in tequila Jalisco you should definitely go back there and show us the different kinds of tequila they have in Mexico oh and also in the Sierra of Sinaloa and Sonora both Mexican northern states they make tequila but it appears to be illegal to sale but it’s a lot stronger then regular tequila but they’re both made from agave but from the mountains so it’s kinda different you guys should try that the one from Sonora it’s called bacanora and the one from Sinaloa it’s called lechuguilla but I think they’re both the same thing im not sure

You should try the tequila express so you don't have to worry about driving after that much tequila.

Haha... guys it is not that they didn’t charge the food, actually not charging for it is the standard around here. Another perk of Mexico. In traditional cantinas, food is always free... you only pay for the drinks... the more you drink the more food they bring. 🍻🌮 And some cantinas are known for serving the best food in town. 😁

Cantinas are great places. Traditionally, women weren’t allowed so you still may not see many women, though now it’s no longer a rule. Most still offer free food as long as you’re drinking, which is great! Looks like you guys had a nice time! I enjoy your videos. 😊 Laska is so cute!
