Totally agree that 2022 was better than 2023, probably due to weather and water temps. Also agree that the fish were smaller in 2023 down here in Muskegon.

Question on flies for flasher fly. I tie my own and was curious if you prefer Dreamweaver fly tube head style or a bullet head style. Pro and cons. Might also be a good poll subject for a later week. Thanks Capt.

Both work just fine. The biggest pro to the bullet head is the glow capability. Both catch fish.

I have a really big question. I switched to Scotty braided down rigger line on my down riggers No cable at all and I noticed I cut my catching in half is this a thing or is it just a quintessential just a question.

I remember when the debate went on here in Illinois over allowing crossbows to be used by healthy people in the general archery season. The crossbow people's argument for allowing crossbows was that a crossbow is harder to use (cock, carry, etc...) than a legal bow, and a crossbow used limbs and a bolt that looked like legal archery equipment. The no crossbow for general use in the archery season people argued that a crossbow doesn't require the skill that a legal bow requires and therefore shouldn't get the advantage of a long season enjoyed by bow hunters who had to work much harder to master their craft. They also argued that a crossbow is really a gun that just uses limbs for powder and a bolt for a bullet. Another concern was cross bows will result in way more deer harvested during bow season. If more deer are harvested during bow season it weakens the gun hunter's argument for more gun hunting days since there is a finite number of deer that should be harvested annually. Bow deer season is months long whereas the general gun season is only 7 days. The pro-crossbow people won. I don't know if it's been good, bad, or indifferent for deer in Illinois. But I do know the general gun season is still 7 days. Thanks Chris

Don't put the fish hawk on a pro line down rigger, lost one and I know if it was on steel cable I know that I would still have it
