#3 is especially elegant. It looks to me like you and your partner would need to have experience dancing with each other for the understanding that the leader will give the follower time to do this.

Needless to say, time is given up to the follower in many ways. Decorations are not led.

Hi there, thanks for this. No. 3 is my fav to try and learn, it looks beautiful. So, no 3 as you say can be used when the music is more 'round' and melodic, takes longer,...my experience so far of the ocho cortado is for more choppy music so can i ask, is there any chance that leader might be about to lead another step once i am in the side step with weight on both legs, if i begin to do decoration no. 3 is there any chance that leader was actually about to lead a different step ?? or is the cortado the only option from this lead ? thanks, trishi

Just getting the hang of the normal Ocho cordato. If the follower did any of those three alterations, I honestly would not know what to do....my head would of imploded.
