its almost like both sanemi and obani are trying to push tanjiro to get much stronger since they were the only two to see the infinite castle and thats why they are training every night and sanemis training was definitely more brutal

It's Sanemi. Many of the scenes where Tanjiro is about to give up or complain are played by Sanemi. Also, Sanemi and Tanjiro have completely opposite ways of thinking about demons, so they don't get along well. Both are eldest sons

So they explained this last season, but it's explained better in the manga. Genya has the ability to temporarily turn into a demon and gain passive regen by consuming demons. His strength and regen get better the stronger the demon he eats. He has special digestive organs and jaw strength that allow for the transformation. In the demon slayer world, this is a rare ability you have to be born with to allow for this. While never outright said, I've always interpreted this ability as a rare genetic mutation. Demons have been around for over 1000 years, so it makes sense that the human body would try to adapt to demons.

Also dont forget Genya backstory. He blamed his brother for his mothers death and they never recovered after that. Also, Sanemi hates demons he had to kill his mother after she turned to a demon. So knowing his brother is eating demons and effectively becoming a demon he is beyond disgusted

I like Obanai'training to Tanjiro than Sanemi
