So far mine has done well in a 125g. I have a juvi, and most of the other fish are juvis as well so aggression hasn't been a real issue yet. Tank has parrots, jag, vieja, jd, firemouth, eb texas, acara, sevrums,

Hmmm I just got one, saw it at the store & bc I have a 90 gallon tank I figured 1; it’s a juvenile 2; the tank has a lot of hiding spots & fake plants (wish I could live plants but my fish tear it apart more than they do eat it) & 3; I’d say the most passive SA cichlid in the tank is the green severum & a 5 year old JD but they’ve both got size on their sides. I do have 8 barbs in there also but they seem to be left alone & bc they’re so fast & stick together that also helps them. I also have juvenile GT & a firemouth & the FM is already becoming quite a fast little chaser.

When I was young, I had a medium-small one in a 10gal. Unfiltered in filth. It was hardy AF. I got a filter for it and kept 3 feeder goldfish with it for many months. No probs. Then came home to all 3 killed. Unpredictable

I tried keeping my Salvini with most of those central American cichlids, now my female Salvini lives alone. It worked for the first 6 or so months, but in the end it didn't work out long term

Got one on a whim. I knew what I was getting into, but... Unfortunately, he/she started bullying EVERYTHING in the tank. Including my female convict which has beautiful coloring and flowing fins. Pretty sure the Salvini killed a young Green Terror too. I think it was just too big for the tank and size of cichilds I already had. He/she was just a bully, and not just chasing for a sec or two, that joker was out for blood. So, I moved it to a hospital tank. Prepping a 75 gal, maybe I'll add it back in the mix when it's ready.

That’s wild that it went after ur convict bc they are by far the worst SA cichlid I’ve tried to keep. They can’t GIVE that fish away around here.

Just got two salvini cichlids and it almost killed 2 of my fire mouths and another salvini I had in my tank.. so I put him in another tank with my green texas and he almost got killed.. so I'm taking him back to the aquarium where I got him.. all he does is hide and try to fight.
