Same here,. Rock/Metal first, then pop/kpop/techno, industrial. O.O gives that variety that people like us multi genre fans understand. That's why kpop got my attention and I love the variety certain groups provide. NMIXX is giving musical uniqueness in kpop that's not something common or basic or another rap kpop song or super repeating like most other kpop songs, that's what I look for the most on kpop and groups like Itzy, Nmixx and aespa are some of those.

I grew up listening to kpop esp SM ent girl groups so I'm used to the 'mix pop' sound (which growing up I called it SM experimental sound bc they were the only ones mixing music like this) So when I heard O.O I thought people would love it bc it replicates that sound with a JYP twang. On top of the vocals being top tier, the choreography and concept are all very very cool and interesting. I was surprised when I saw all the hate. But it made me realize that most kpop fans nowadays are new and really only listen to modern sounds. So they aren't used to the 'experimental' sound. I'm glad people are becoming more open to it bc music doesn't all have to sound the same and I think it's cool how music can carry a unique story by mixing the sound like this. I agree that a lot of people complain about a lack of talent in kpop and then skip out on godly performers just bc they are doing a unique concept or are from a small company etc. Personally, I feel like most idols are all genuinely talented, some need time to adjust to live performances compared to just the usual training environment. I imagine it can be a bit of a nerve-wracking, sensory overload when they debut and some people just handle it better than others. But that doesn't mean they aren't talented, they just need time to get used to the new environment. While having a packed schedule, loads of criticism for every little mistake from both the public and their company, extreme dieting, hardly spending time with friends/family esp of they are foreigners. I think idols deserve some grace for all that they put up with. Most people wouldn't survive the conditions that they work under.

Ad Mare is honestly such a polarizing and experimental debut. O.O’s production and song structure is very.. interesting, ngl the nmixx switch up part is not a bridge but a whole other part by itself sure it is very contrasting to its counterpart however it does not bridge the two parts of the song together - in fact it tears the whole song apart, the production is also absolutely jarring which is the whole point. TANK’s structure is quite linear and typical however the production is highly experimental and non-linear and I can see why people prefer it more as it feels more normal for k-pop structure wise. TANK is definitely a final boss fighting song it’s just very loud in that way, reminds me of when I spar in Taekwondo (and when i actually win which is a bit rare). Also I love the dreamcatcher self, you’ve got quite a collection going!

They have really proven themselves time and time again. And I d k how you felt about their debut.. but their Recent music is competing with the best releases. And their latest album Fe3O4 break is a skinless album and it literally shook everyone. With tracks like.. Dash, Run for Roses, soñar, Passionfruit and Boom being MUST try songs. The others like the unsung XOXO and break the wall do not fall behind. It's just simply the matter of people choosing to hate on them at this point.

o.o is a good song and I'm willing to die on that hill it was something unexpected and created shock and rejection at first listen but that's the problem, most people gave their opinion upon a first listen it's one of my most repeated nmixx songs and everytime you listen to it, it becomes better and better yes something totally unfamiliar to what you're used to is going to get a viceral reaction from you but if you stomach that first reaction a lot of the times a good things comes after it like eating olives as a kid vs as an adult, like tasting lemon the first time vs everything else that is improved and is superb with lemon, like drinking coffee with sugar an learning to taste it without.

I MEAN COME ON ?!? Who does an acapella on a music show AND sings live like you can look at all of the artists reaction when they hear their vocals loud and clear (see their dash music wins it was so satisfying to watch 😭😭😭) you can argue with me all you want but I would say NMIXX are the top vocalists of 4th gen.. like all members are talented.. all are aces… next in the vocal hierarchy would probably be aespa but thats just me… anyways love Taejiu ❤
