I think the crit damage talent will be mandatory for the tank shamans in endgame. Early on they'll be solid tanks with Stoneclaw and fire totems.

Esfabd went Oom because he was spamming molten blast on every person to keep threat. He didn’t have rockbiter on for 50% of the time. Dual Wield tank with rockbiter main hand, will be very interesting to test, and will probably be standard for caster bosses.

You would just switch to molten blast for boss fights where you are add tanking cos the boss is a caster. Water shield otherwise. Pretty straight forward.

With 20% block and a 1.5s enemy swing timer, it would take almost 7s to get a block and trigger the 4% mana return. Which is not much considering, and also only works on melee. I think it's going to take water shield, stacking Int, and drinking to full before pulls in order to Shaman tank.

With Single Target, sure - this might be an issue. At which point I foresee dual-wield ranking being a thing. With trash packs? Nah, I don’t think blocking will be an issue at all. I also foresee some kind of earthen bulwark type rune in later levels that acts a bit like holy shield, giving even more block. But as for level 25- I imagine if Molten Blast procs clear casting, you’ll see a lot of shamans swap over to a clear casting/shield spec talent allocation to improve mana efficiency

Imagine you're tanky enough to dual wield while using Way of Earth reminiscent of fury prot. Double rockbiter would be RIDICULOUS threat

Now that alliance has windfury with druids the horde will have essentially 0 players. Pvp ques will be shit for alliance but open world pvp will be impossible for horde.

All classes run out of mana early levels. Mana regen stuff will probably be added with additional Runes that will be unlocked at higher levels.

I also think we need to make sure that it is not a case of never going oom, more a case of making your mana pool sustainable for a reasonable amount of time. I still think it is important that mana matters in classic but classes should be able to sustain their mana in ways much more similar to that of a mage with something like the use of a CD and mana pots.

I don't want to be a tank, I just want to be elemental and viable. Running out of mana in 8 seconds is not viable.

I raided as elemental for all of classic and cleared every raid with my guild and was on raid rosters for 2 others as Elemental. It is extremely possible to do great numbers and not oom before the end of the fight with proper mana management and consumes.

youre already getting that overload rune + Lava Burst and Paladin and other classes are gettting spells that give mana to the entire raid/party passively. Elemental Shamn will probably be a top 3 caster dps
