Tank Trap Part 2 & Crowning a Winner! - Top Truck Challenge 2015

The legendary Tank Trap event continues! After our drivers navigate through holes 1 to 7 they face the final obstacle: a long, slippery dirt hill that standing between them and the finish line. Competitors were not allowed to see the course prior to competition and are given 30 minutes to complete the entire Tank Trap. Because of its difficulty level, Tank Trap is worth double the points of the other events, so a competitor can catch up on needed points or extend a lead by doing well.
Lastly we tally the points, factor in penalties, and stack up our drivers to crown the champion of Top Truck Challenge 2015!

Looks like the little Toyotas 7M-GTE blew a head gasket (Common stock 7M-GTE problem). Probably would have ran all day if he had ARP hardware, probably lap the head & block, slap in a metal HG & torque down to 90ft-lbs.

Sad to see that 12V Cummins have so many issues... Diesels rock, wish more folks would wake up and realize how much better they are for off-road work. The Toyota's obviously awesome because... Supra Turbo and well...Toyota. Plus it's awesome to see something so "small" out there mixing it up with the giant trucks they field and showing how stout Toyotas are (let's be honest there's a LOT less trick shit under that Yota then any of the other rigs out there and it still works...sometimes). Love that giant White GMC Jimmy/Shivvy K5 on the 54's too (Bowman/Pickard) That thing looks like a giant kids toy it's so perfectly proportioned on those tires and with the bar-work/cab design it just looks amazing... and that Canti-Suspension in the winning teams rig is really cool too. Love seeing so many NW folks running as usual and a few rigs I recognize from up here in OR/ID.

I have a new-found respect for that Toyota, I had no idea it had a *4.0L turbo'd SUPRA engine* in it, that's pretty freakin' awesome and unique. And I can tell he does know what he's doing more than most of them, his rig just isn't packed with dollar bills like the others. :/ shame.

I've see a lot of people trashing the Toyota driver's driving ability but he did an outstanding job here. Would have had a great finish had the truck not broken. I salute the team for bringing this underbuilt truck and still giving it their all. The guy with the diesel IH was a bit disappointing. Had all the right parts but couldn't make it go. Maybe next year.

Jeff Ratliff I wouldn't call it under built it is on built 1 ton axles and 44s. The 54 inch tires and military axled rigs are really kind of silly ...lol...may as well be driving a volvo dump truck ...lol...pretty soon they will need to transport the rigs to Hollister hills in sections on flat bed semi trailers like they do big construction equipment...lol...one flat bed for just the tires...lol...hell one flat bed per tire like the real big earth moving equipment .

+Concaveman172 Likely was. Jake comes from central Saskatchewan. He wheels through bush roads & mud bogs, fords creeks, climbs hills in gravel pits, and then does it all again in the winter through 3 ft of snow. No rock crawling experience at all because there are no rocks to speak of. Casey, his co-driver, that he met at Mountain Havoc, Idaho, a week before TTC is a rock crawler. If you want to see him really drive and see the Toyota really work, google Hard Grass Havoc 2014, Jake Brazier Reaper Wall.

I have to agree that some of these started out way too difficult. I'd like to see more events, and sort them from easiest to most difficult. Give a chance for more competitors to get to the end instead of breaking most of them on the 2nd challenge.

I had an idea for a competition the other day that would be awesome for this channel. In three words: FOX BODY CUP. Events: autocross, drift, drag, track and road course rally. Rules: must be powered by an engine or engine family built by or used in a production Ford, horsepower limited (I dunno what to but try and keep it fair I guess), all vehicles must use the Ford Fox Platform. Not sure which sister publication you can partner with for it's production, but it would be amazing!
