As an ex truck driver, it amazes me when guys bury to the axels. As soon as I lost traction , I called for a hook. Much easier on equipment to pull from a three inch rut than dragging the whole bottom hard across. May not have saved much money on the pull, but operators appreciated not having to crawl under or dig out.
@sarukmaktao2252 жыл бұрын
As an operator. I agree. It's much quicker to hook up, pull you out, it's easier on the equipment, quicker for me, less to watch and worry about.

Greetings and many Blessings again from Cardington, OH ..... Thanks again guys, for another great video. At the beginning, I thought, "Man, that sure does remind me of the Toyota in the lake recovery". LOL .... Then you mentioned it in your on-screen comment. Well done as usual. Again, thank you, and prayers for you, your families and our faithful family of viewers. Stay safe and well, and Blessings in all that you do.

The boy is a hard worker though. I can't every remember you having to tell him something twice. Great work Mike.

Love your videos Ron. There is something relaxing about watching other people do great work after long week at work. Your work ethic, the way you deal with other people with respect no matter what, that is really inspiring to me. I'm not a man of faith, but with your videos I always wish that your believe system works for you and provides you with safety and good health for all the people in your life. Keep up the good work and vibe around you, we need more people like you in this world.

My dad drove fuel oil truck 1973-2011...if he was still alive, his first question to the Bulk Driver: "What in the HELL were you thinking?" I remember a homeowner wanted him to drive into some stupid spot, and he says "OK, you get the tow bill!" homeowner quickly changed tune!

"Who needs a gym when you work out with this stuff?" - That is SO true. When I was in high school and college, I'd work out in the gym like crazy and never see any improvement. But, during the summer, I'd mow our 2 acres with a push mower, work in the garden, etc and would lose weight, gain a good bit of strength, etc. I also started doing home remodeling and saw good results from that. But, gym, never did me much good at all!

I’m retired firefighter I can’t tell you how many engine, tankers and vehicles I have seen stuck in yards and fields. One of the main rules was if it’s green grass don’t drive over it. Grass girls better in wet soil or above septic tanks or runoffs that you’re unable to see.

I always wonder about the weight limit of some of these roads versus the weight of the rotator. I've seen concrete walks and drives broken into little pieces by a fire truck driving over them. I've also seen concrete and asphalt broken from a tree service truck/crane driving over them. Lastly, I've talked to semi-drivers who were concerned about driving over and damaging buried pipes or electrical service.
@zacharyanonymous51705 жыл бұрын
Ron soon as you pulled up and parked. It immediately reminded me of the question you asked @11:53 about the Toyota in the pond job. EDIT: I’m a volunteer firefighter and a rescue truck has a winch on it (small one for cars) and after a call if the winch is used. When we get back we lay the whole winch out hook it up to someone’s car and put it back nice and tight on the drum. So it has tension so it’s nice coming out next time we use it.

Could you elaborate on what exactly was happening to the winch cable that lead to concern that the cable was at risk of breaking (around 24 min mark if I recall)? I’m not sure I was quite following what was creating that concern at that moment and so you’ve piqued my curiosity. As always, thank you for these videos as I really enjoy them a great deal despite your work having nothing at all to do with my occupation, it’s just a beautiful truck and I so very enjoy watching people who love what they do!
@qcan84685 жыл бұрын
He was pulling with the cable on the driver’s side of the boom. That was fine when the boom was turned toward the tanker but when the boom was turned back to transport position the cable was hitting the boom / other cable. This contact could easily damage or cut the cable.

Hi Ron. I thought that property looked familiar. Wish I had it out here in the SF Bay Area, but don't have the millions of $$ it would cost. I stay here for the weather. A hazmat pull at that, I think there's an extra charge for that. That's the problem with highway steer tires, they cut into soft surfaces easily. I got my 18 wheeler stuck in front of my company's dock because the new gravel wasn't properly packed in well, and the steer tires dug in. I got good treaded drives, so they just dug a bigger hole, and eventually after trying to pull it out with other trucks, it buried my drives to the axles. A 40 ton wrecker broke a winch cable trying to get it out. drive.google.com/file/d/195Dli3_H4azGCu1CT0ee6yZOnuGqVSB_/view?usp=drivesdk
