Experience the world’s finest collection of tanks in action - for free. The Tank Museum has partnered with @World of Tanks Europe - and tank museums around the world - to create the first live-streamed historic tank event. tankmuseum.org/events/tankfes...
TANKFEST Online featured the famous Tank Arena show, historical content, tank demonstrations and a fundraiser to support The Tank Museum, which was closed to the public March-July due to Covid-19, in their effort to preserve historic vehicles, such as the Tiger 131.

I remember in 1965, before my family emigrated to Canada, my Dad taking us to the museum to see the army display at the museum. The one thing that impressed a five year old was the scissor bridge opening. That is what I can still remember fifty five years later. Every time I visit England I have a Bovington day. Thanks for this channel. Max.

Been to the Canadian War Museum twice, once in the early 80's and once more in 2015. Amazing. And made me very proud to be Canadian. Not yet seen Bovington, nor the French or German counterparts but they are definitely on my to visit list.

World of tanks was fun as heck. I was always in the tiop of the scored board, if nt number one. Even with the supposedly wimpy first tank. Brought pvp back to me, after thinking I am just to old and slow. Tactics strategy and the sheer balls and aiming. Made this a great game! On a side note. If you are young and see a tank on display at a fair or large event. Dont go to look at it up close. A recruiter will appear out of thin air, detailing the tank and what it would be like to be in one. He will guarantee you too be in a tank crew and you can even enlist with freinds. lol. I listened and enjoyed his practiced speech. But told him no thanks. But thanks!

It’s not happening because the museum it’s held at (Kubinka) isn’t interested in restoring any German vehicles. They’ve said their priority is restoring Soviet/Russian vehicles. Basically patriotic bias. If I remember they said it’s insulting/disrespectful to even suggest they’d restore any German vehicles before Soviet ones (especially a huge multi-million project like the Maus)
@toxicfireball2690

The Maus isn't even a complete tank, its turret and hull are from two completely different tanks. I'm pretty sure restoring the Maus is basically rebuilding it and I don't think anyone would want to put the time, effort and money into restoring it.

Tax systems in the UK are complex for charities. The Tank museum is likely exempt from tax on various revenue sources such as donations and tickets for events but probably does pay tax on the sales of new goods (ie the majority of their shop inventory) and corporate sponsorships such as WOT. Though this is only an educated guess.

Appreciate what y'all are doing. There is ample interest for half tracks too. Guys, take us on a tour and inside some half tracks. The tanks are epic, but even more unique and of comparable importance were German half tracks. There weren't enough of any vehicles or equipment. To make up for being outdone in raw materials, manpower and industrial capacity - well, that's why they built super machines. Since Germany would never keep pace with Western and Soviet manufacturing or raw material, they used the resources at their disposal to develop and build weapons of war that were superior to anything else in the era.

Another good point on keeping Tiger 131 running regulary is that with these old vehicles, standing still actually is detrimental to them. They need to be run every once in a while, not worked to what they were build for offcourse, but just running and driving them gently will actually elongate the lifespan of alot of the mechanical parts. Anyone with a (valuable) classic car knows that you run into more maintenance problems if you only drive it 3 times per year then when you take it out for a spin once every few weeks.

Awesome stream, really well done. I myself have recently dipped into doing some historical tank videos on my channel. I’ve been a wot enthusiast since beta. And switched to console after my pc died. Anyway, as a former tanker in the military, I am very thankful folks like y’all have continued to plug away! Cheers 🍻

I didn't realize the Churchill had so much ground clearance. That's really quite considerable, but makes perfect sense in design given how long the hull is.
