I've followed your guide and have a blast. Nice one! In my first 3 good maps Hinekora + 3x Valdo and handful of divine and zero deaths. Bought Legion jewel for 1 div with 37 chaos resist so my other jewel has corrupted blood with %max life, damage recoup as life and %damage. Helmet is self-crafted and total cost 120 divs + mage blood. In terms of leveling I started as lvl72 with the build and it's feasible. Hit lv96 after I started juicing the maps in few hours. All in all this is insane and play it / enjoy it while it's available. This will get nerfed / destroyed in the next league. My tips: You don't need to buy Watcher's eye with Purity of fire go with Male %. With 89% max resist + flask you are almost unkillable.

The mastery now says "50% of your Energy Shield is added to your Stun Threshold" so I would assume this build won't work anymore without using a Valyrium Moonstone Ring (which would prevent us to use 2 good rolled Ventor's Gamble and drastically compromise the cheap MF characteristic of the build). It seems GGG keeps its policy of "if they find something different, interesting, and fun to do outside of the game meta, let's remove it from the game". Very unfortunate. That's a very nice video though, and a great concept. Thanks for sharing the build!

Yeah, it's unfortunate that the ES mastery was changed, but not totally unexpected. At least Valyrium still exists, so it's an option, even if it's in a slightly-nerfed state.

27:40 Locking suffixes and using veiled orb to get higher tier of "phys as fire" would be good only if that mod wasnt specific to a syndicate member. You cant roll it from veiled chaos. It can only drop from Korell with his veiled mod on a helmet.

Currently putting this together and I havnt been playing too long and crafting has allways seemed so daunting to me spend 3 div and got t2 life t1 rarity t2 int and 10/10 mana reservation slamed 25 eldritch and have 7 fire recouped as life and 7 lightning dmg taken as. That was literally so easy!! (im going to reroll it later to min max the life and get something better then int but thats amazing for now).

Do you think this'll work in 3.24? I miss Chieftain a lot! I'm looking to run Delve, Blight, Sanctum, and Expedition. Probably need to have multiple characters to do all those efficiently.

It definitely should. Losing out on the explode chance from charms does make it a little less consistent. Chieftain explosions are still super-duper strong, and they haven't been nerfed in the patch. Neither has Fulcrum, so it should all be great. There also a real possibility that the Necropolis crafting mechanic has some kind of interaction with this build that we just don't know about yet!

You mean it would work only with Agnostic? Because of inherited 50% chance to block stun, while you have ES?

If you don't take the ES Mastery, your stun threshold will still be based on your 4200 life, so this build wouldn't function. Taking Agnostic is fine, but using RF also keeps your ES at 0 at all times, so the only thing it really adds is setting your ES to 0 instead of 140, and 140 is low enough to get stunned by virtually every hit. There are a few people on PoE.Ninja using Agnostic with this build, but it's pretty uncommon.

I'm gonna run this build for end season, what's stats for the TWWT are mandatory or can you just swap them between the other charms?

Nothing mandatory on TWWT, you just need to get an extra 25% Ignite *somewhere* else. It can come from a flask suffix, a charm, or a TWWT. Other than that, you want Max Fire Res and 500% Fire Explosion chance on charms and TWWT, but they can be expensive, and they're not required to make the build work!

Bought the one, got lucky from a 3-to-1 vendor exchange with the other. Could buy a Kalandra, but that's *maybe* more expensive than the good one in this setup. With a mirror-tier Ventor, a Kalandra's Touch is a no-brainer, for sure.

If you're taking the Sovereignty wheel and using a level 3 Enlighten linked to Purity of Fire, Petrified Blood, and Malevolence, you should have the mana for Arctic Armour. Be sure you're using Arrogance Support on your Vitality so that it reserves Life. DD of Chain Reaction makes sense in this setup. It's probably great!

@@PathofEvening wow, thx for the speedy reply -> 5 star service :) I did all that and still can't fit arctic armour *confused* 8%+8%+12% from sovereignty wheel + lvl3 enlighten gets me the following: 25.16% res for petrified, 35,94% for malevolence and 25.16% for purity of fire. Arctic armour would be another 19.53%, which is 6% too much :/ DD of chain reaction has significant lower dmg than regular DD. I have no idea if it is better. I am trying it out and the explosions are insane. R.I.P., calculator...

I found and corrected my mistake: I tried to craft that helmet with a part-success: It went alright until I got to the exalt annul part. It doesn't seem to be the case any longer that the Eldritch mod leads to us being able to use regular exalts and annuls, is that correct? I have a +1 all skills +2 aoe sadima's now and I think even if enlighten is lvl 4, it wouldn't be enough to run an additional banner, fyi. I have corrupted a few Scholar's robe and am quite frustrated. Which made me think about tattoos! What do you think are the best attoos for this build? I am considering 10x 5%reduced crit dmg taken, 10x 3%increased chaos res (as I can't afford a mageblood yet) and 2x consume a corpse to get some life. what do you think? I still feel pretty squishy, but it'll all come together right before patch day :'D

Smoothness in maps, the increased explosion chance and defenses provided by Charms. Warlock version works, and it's better against rares, but there's more effort required.

@@PathofEvening That effort being putting penance mark on right click. Honestly though, the very best version IMO is fulcrum with sublime vision. I've played nearly all variations and it was by far the most tanky and consistent in terms of not nuking spires

Does "Base Armour" matter for Chieftain Self Ignite btw? On a specific item like the helmet for example? Why am I "suiciding" when doing t1-t5 maps? Currently level 70

The base type on armor doesn't really matter on this build, but having a Strength base for your helm helps a bit because it makes getting your socket colors right a bit easier. Str/Int or Str/Dex helms will work just fine, it's mostly about getting a fractured base cheaply, and weaker bases will usually be less expensive. As for suiciding, that's most likely just delayed damage from Petrified Blood, which can kill you. Lifetap and Righteous Fire can't actually kill you, but they can bring your health down so that enemy damage or Petrified Blood finish you off. Dropping RF early on in the post-campaign leveling process might be a good idea just to make yourself a bit tankier. Once you get rolling and have good health regen, you can go back to using RF to make killing packs a little smoother.

Really appreciate your reply mate. I eventually got a Energy Shield base since there were no helmets under 3 divs that were armor lol.(With a fractured chaos res mod). Just like you said weaker bases = cheaper. In regards to the suiciding part it came from the ASCENDANCY.. I know, I know.. Big noob but I'm still learning as I go along and had actually picked the wrong side has the first 2 talent choices. Also, if you had the entire build done and the only thing missing was a Watcher's Jewel(40d) and a Mageblood(90d). What would you go for first? Should be pretty doable! The required uniques with non-perfect rolls are all pretty cheap, and you can upgrade to better rolls as you acquire more currency!

It is, but it doesn't have to be. Some people will just run a 5-link and remove RF from the build or cast it by hand each map. The main point of using RF is to ensure you constantly have 0 Energy Shield so that you never have a chance to avoid stuns. You can also spec into The Agnostic Passive Keystone to achieve the same result. That does mean pulling a passive tree point from somewhere else, but it frees up a skill gem socket, so there's a bit of decision-making available.

There's a version of the build that runs the Warlock tree and takes Penance Mark to help with ST damage, but it is more active than the Primalist setup (not by much, but using one skill is more effort than using zero skills) and it loses the damage/defense you get from charms. As for doing the King in the Mists quest, the best approach is to buy a carry. Bit lame, but it's the fastest approach.

How do you find specific gear for builds? POE trade seems really expensive

Depends on the build! Crafting rare gear is usually cheaper than buying it, but it requires some degree of game knowledge and a willingness to spend time working through RNG, instead of just quickly buying an already-finished item. As for unique gear, aside from ultra-rare items like Mageblood, most uniques aren't all that expensive unless they have near-perfect rolls. For this build, you can save a massive amount of currency just by making use uniques that are slightly less than perfect. They won't be as good, but they will still be useful, and you know exactly how to upgrade later once you have the currency!

The best approach is just to stand EVEN further away. Sometimes explosions will cascade onto the Spire. It's pretty annoying, but it's okay, it happens, you just move on to the next one!

If you're not using Petrified Blood or you're reserving too much health, you can cap out pretty easy. That's a big advantage of using Petrified Blood & Righteous Fire, you can basically hit Divination Distillate at any point and you'll never cap your health.

The best way to scale damage is just to go for more DoT Multi, fire damage, & ignite duration. Most of the damage comes from enemy health pools, and the little bit of damage you deal to get the explosion/ignite chain rolling isn't all that huge. Scaling it up can make it a little more consistent, but it doesn't have a huge impact, either.

Depends on whether you feel like you're struggling defensively or offensively. Going for more defense is usually the better bet. Taking a few seconds longer to kill things isn't as bad as dying and having to zone back in, after all!

It's in the gear section, but the goal is to use Mageblood for consistency and speed, but a Stygian Vise with good life and resist rolls can work. As for Flasks, Mageblood's great because you can use it to juice a Ruby and Amethyst Flask for making yourself much tankier, and then you can just shove in a Gold Flask with the crafted Rarity suffix, then use Enkindling Orbs and the Increased Effect prefix to double it. Not necessary for the build to work at all, but nice if you have it. If not, a Stygian Vise will absolutely get the job done.

Most likely. The main things that Charms added to this build were explode chance and max res. You can play without either of those, but the build will have less explode chance (obviously), and probably be a bit less tanky.

The league mechanic has been nerfed several times now to help with inflation its possible to get 9k maps still but they are few and far between and this strat is a gamble now, your probably better off supplying the people still doing it with orbs and sextants

Taking things a bit slower in the woods and following wisp trails and monsters streaming out of the darkness helps a lot for maximizing your wisp count in the Veridian Wildwood. As for making currency with this strategy, any MF strat is going to require RNG since you're hunting for currency conversion mobs, but this is still an extremely profitable setup. The last round of changes to the Wildwood happened in mid-January, before we finalized and published this guide.

This character was leveled with a typical One with Nothing Smite twink setup. It's decent, but you'll probably have a better time leveling as a Juggernaut and then switching to Chieftain after doing Uber Lab. Slams can also be a good leveling setup, Sunder and Volcanic Fissure are both pretty fun to use. There was a comment here recently from someone saying that they leveled using Astramentis & CwC Cyclone Firestorm setup to finish the campaign, then swapped over to the Cast When Stunned setup afterward. Haven't tested it yet, but it sounded pretty fun!

There is another version of this build that uses the Warlock Ascendancy and self-casts Penance Mark onto Rare and Unique mobs to make them spawn phantasms for you to explode. This helps a lot with the single-target damage, but it comes at the cost of losing Charms & the Wildwood Rucksack, so there's a big tradeoff. Otherwise, the only great option for getting damage onto a boss is trying to cast a Vaal Breach and hoping that you can get a good explosion.

A Hollow Palm (www.poewiki.net/wiki/One_With_Nothing) Smite setup works really well for the campaign and a few levels afterward. If you go that route, leveling as Jugg is definitely better than leveling as Chieftain. Slams are also super fun for leveling, too. Volcanic Fissure and Sunder are both pretty solid. You can swap to this setup around level 72 and it's surprisingly smooth from there on out. You can just do maps or shallow delve to get up into the 90's, and then you're basically set for high-end map blasting!

50/268 without Divination Distillate up, 62/297 with it. Definitely still some room to improve with a double Rarity Elegant Hubris (but that costs about a mirror) and Quant Corruption on Ventor's. Cheapest possible upgrade right now would just be to get a 10/40 Ventor's and use a Kalandra's Touch to double it, could easily add another 8-10% IIR.
