This is nice for someone with small children or grandchildren. But, every time I see this model, I want to take out the bunk beds and put a side x side w/d there, then put in a pantry where the existing w/d tower is. Take out the loft, so there is no stairs, and that would allow the bathroom wall to be moved out some so the bathroom isn't so cramped. Also, making it easy to widen the bedroom and bathroom doors. Do away with half of the windows and the outside kitchen. Center the front door, add back in the built-in desk, and have roll-under sinks. And like magic, it's an ADA home for wheelchairs. I really like the deep drawers in the kitchen, instead of cabinets. So much easier to get things out of than lower cabinets. I'd add in the dishwasher too.

I'm glad you liked the video, and I love hearing your ideas! You've obviously given this a lot of thought. It's always fun to think about how to make a home better, and it seems like you've got some great ideas on how to make this unit more accessible.

I was thinking that same thing with the bunks and washer dryer area. I also would do away with the outside kitchen. Well, maybe have a small grill mounted/removable over one of the railings so you could grill out. I like sitting on porches so I would prefer a bigger porch area without the counter thing. I would keep the loft though for "getaways" for pets.

We’ve mentioned it to many manufacturers of park models. They all seem interested but we have yet to see anyone start installing them regularly.

I have a 9 year old. That being said hes very into gaming. That loft although short would be a good gaming room to one side and a sleep on the other. (I'd prefer if I could somehow slightly adjust that loft level or perhaps look into rising the roof in the future.) I think the loft and the bank of drawers under the stairs was about the only thing that blew me away in this place. Only thing I can see is things I would do differently. Too many things. - Remove the bunks put side by side washer/dryer there. Pantry space where laundry is now. Gut under the stairs for even MORE storage cause you just know there is wasted space there. I prefer the kitchen drawers other than the conventional open door style. If I had my way they would ALL be drawers of various sizes (Thinner for silverware/spices/kitchen towels-potholders etc and only under the sink would be a open door type. A U shaped kitchen with a drop down off the wall table or something could have been implemented here. You pretty much have NO livingroom at all. If I picked this model I'd have to close in that porch and make a proper livingroom but then again thats extra cost.

Clayton is not the type of manufacturer that would make a lot of changes for individual customers. They have their floor plans, standard package and then you can select a few options. They are a volume company. It would be less expensive to find something that works 90% for you and then deal with the rest on your own or get a small builder to custom design your plan and ideas.

Love your videos!! You guys look amazing!! Would you all or anyone happen to know what states there are unrestricted land to place tiny homes in? Thank you!
@50pluslife3602 ай бұрын
Thank you! Thanks for watching! Land is getting harder and harder to find. You typically need to be in rural, unincorporated areas in order to not be restricted on square footage and type of home to.place a park model as a permanent housing solution; otherwise park models are acceptable at many RV resorts, lake communities and communities set up specifically for park models. It just takes a lot of searching. In our area, in NE Alabama, there are several communities around Mentone and even into Menlo, GA.
@50pluslife3602 ай бұрын
If you're looking for specific states, some are better than others, but you basically have to stay outside of towns and cities, as mentioned in our other comment.

Are Clayton Park Models a different division than Clayton Mobile Homes?

Hi there!! CONS: Well, this first one has some design flaws: No kitchen countertop work space Too small of a living area, no where for company. That porch with the built in sink, they should of turned it horizontal against the back or even the side, giving more floor space. (And those are soooo easy & affordable to install yourself) Samsung appliances, not that good, should of stuck with Frigidaire or kenmore All those windows wayyyyy too many, it really brings the heat in. (They should really get away of that thinking more windows gives illusion of bigger-brighter area install horizontal hopper windows up top) Bedroom-no closet to hold much of anything not even for one, person, Again get rid of those big windows, allowing wall space for a built in dresser/closet, they have a window above bed. Not able to stand in loft, making space un-usable for adults. No mini splits in loft, it will get warm up there. The mini split in living room won't cool that area. Not worth 100k Pros: The washing Machine Bathroom door Skinny cabinet by washing machine One could remove those bunk beds & put in a closet with louver doos, again remove those 3 windows in there. You have the loft for kids. The coffee area/pantry area 2) mini splits Bedroom up high hopper windows Skinny staircase good for support Split area in loft

Nice house but where is the indoor dining area?
@50pluslife3602 ай бұрын
There’s a section of the kitchen counter that is open underneath that can be used as office space or indoor dining for two. It’s shown earlier in the video.

Mr. Chubby, a California king bed/mattress is 4 inches LONGER and 4 inches NARROWER than a standard king. California king.......72 inches wide by 84 inches long. Regular king..........76 inches wide by 80 inches long. For all those tall movie stars in California?🤷🏼♀️😮

How can this home be 12'x45' which is 540sf and only be 399sf?
@50pluslife360Ай бұрын
12x45 is overall frame size end to end not counting tongue. The covered porch is not counted towards square footage per ANSI standards.

Way to big a bed in the master bedroom. A Queen would be better to move around invthe room. It looks to tight with the Cal King. I would do flods up bunkbeds or no beds. Use the space for something else. The lof iis big enough for kids.

Wouldn't do samsung at least where I live can't get anyone to work on them my mother in law bought all new when she built her house 4 yrs ago microwave/convection oven quit after 2 uses called to get fixed and couldn't cause no one works on them
@50pluslife3602 ай бұрын
I guess it depends on the area. Most appliance repair shops will work on any brand but if you’re under warranty the manufacturer will have to dictate who does the work. We have several Samsung appliances at the moment and have been happy except our refrigerator ice maker has had a couple issues. Nothing required a technician but aggravating nonetheless.

We do it that way for a reason. Most people don’t watch the entire video, only an average of about 7-8 minutes. To keep higher engagement and thus increase our audience and video reach we put critical content near the end. It’s all part of the famous KZbin Algorithm. You often see folks telling you to ‘watch till the end’ and that’s why. KZbin sort of forces creators to use this tactic. You can always fast forward if it bothers you.
