i like the detail of the German NCO having the correct golden colored lacing on the collar as well as on the cuffs for an infantry unteroffizier, especially because only guard regiments really used silver early war. Kinda odd tho how late war the NCO wears guard litzen on the collar while his squad buddies are all regulars. still awesome tho

I think that game could be very historicaly accurate,but unfortunately in game we have squad system like in verdun,where on map we have squads from different factions,so we have romania and bulgaria on 1914 maps (they joined war in 1915) and moments,when in one trench we have hungarians,germans and bulgarians on map,where only one of that factions fought irl.I think system like in Squad,Post Scriptum or Beyond the Wire,where we have only two factions on map (like romanians vs hungarians) would be more historicaly accurate.

What was the reason for a lot of them choosing very similar uniforms? Can’t tell you how many times when playing as A-H I shot my own guys thinking they were Romanians(or conversely didn’t react and got shot by a Romanian), as well as mixing up Latvia and Bulgaria. It’s obvious on closer inspection but not when you have a split-second to react. Wonder if there was a lot of friendly fire incidents because of that on the eastern front? I’ve also read that in 1914, Serbian soldiers had a field day picking off A-H soldiers because of the bright blue uniforms.
@C.H.K.N_tenders11 ай бұрын
Say that to the uniform creators of ww1 not tannenberg creators as they just added authenticity 💀
@lufsolitaire535111 ай бұрын
@@C.H.K.N_tenders I mean “they” is vague, but I’m talking about the planners of each army and their lack of uniform creativity on the eastern front. With what I wrote it should be obvious who’s logic I’m questioning.
@borquespawpaw867410 ай бұрын
@@lufsolitaire5351The reason for similar uniforms was both influence and cheapness. Basic browns and greys and such are cheap, and so where easy to mass produce for Bulgar, Russian, etc armies. The Blueish Austrian uniform if I remember right was meant to be kinda like the horizon blue French uniform, or atleast the general idea of that, and the Romanian uniform I think held the exact same reason. So pretty much it’s just, it was cheap, and it helped mostly tell who was who on who’s side.
@TheSasudomi8 ай бұрын
@@borquespawpaw8674 This is correct - prior to WW1 armies wanted to make sure to tell the enemy and allies apart so each nation kinda chose a color. I think the British were first to adopt a standardized uniform look as well as color. Of course this was before WW1 when armies just clashed a few times on battlefield and that was it. Once they got stuck in trench warfare everyone realized how stupid it is to wear a fricking RED pants.
