So cool. Welcome home to the Outlaws. First time I ever raced it had to race with Bobby Allen , Steve kinser, Sammy , Diugh Wolf Gang. There were no enclosed trailers then. Dam I am old. Roflao. And yes Boblbie lapped me at i-70 speedway. That would have been the early 80 s. Stay safe and stay God Speed.

I wondered if this night was going to be a good one because I know how you like slick tracks. I'm thinking that running top 5 on a slick track in your first Half or so season with the Outlaws good going Tanner. Thank you for sharing this video with us Tanner. Have a good one. Have fun take care

Tanner, you were reeling them back in after Had went around you and the you start climbing back. Seem him stay up top and you went back to the bottom, top on the straight and back to the bottom on the corners really jettisoned you forward. Starting 3 and ending up 4th was a certain accomplishment for sure.

Tanner, So good to have you back in Ohio. I live closset to Wayne County Speedway, but have also been to Sharon, Attica and Lernerville several times. What I like about Sharon Speedway is that it used to be a half-mile dirt oval. You can still see the old half-mile track outside of the track. Which is from turn 2 to turn 4. Way more prominently from the backstretch to turn 4. Very cool touch by the previous promotors to keep that lineage!
@ParticipationTrofee Жыл бұрын
Outlaw sprints used to run 17.5, 17.8 seconds at that track when it was 1/2 mile. Man they really flew. Just up under 100mph on entry. We lived up on the hill a few miles from there and even when we didn't go we listened to the races. ❤

I grew up in the 60s and 70s going to that track back when the old wooden stands still stood, yet I was there in the early 2000s when two of my cousins raced there. Got to see them win a feature. Another cousin used to be the tech inspector. Many good racers have come out of that area. It was either Hickory Speedway (closed), Mercer, Sharon, Lernersville, or Speedway 7 to decide where to go on any given weekend.

Not sure I agree Tanner on your turns 1 & 2 comment, seems and sounded to me a lot of T1&2 spent idling round the corner when several times a slide and gas down to pass traffic instead of waiting for the straight may have helped..have rewatched again and have same conclusion...apart from that I look foward to each video and am impressed with the learning journey, although I also miss the cart battles between you and Carly

5:40 "It's *literally* an ice skating rink." *No it isn't.* It's literally a speedway. The ice skating rink, is a metaphor.
@H3110NU Жыл бұрын
Surprised you aren’t correcting him on the “literally could throw a blanket on them” either. Literally can mean figurative now, language evolves.
@skepticusmaximus184 Жыл бұрын
@@H3110NU "Literally", literally means the OPPOSITE of figurative. Language does evolve, but we should all hope that it evolves in a positive useful way. To what benefit of language, is the evolution of the word 'literally' now becoming a direct synonym of its actual antonym? I'm also curious to know what word you'd propose as a candidate for the definition that the word 'literally' LITERALLY used to mean? Also, note that speaking figuratively doesn't usually require a qualifier. You can say "it's an ice skating rink out there", and most people will know that you're speaking figuratively. You're making an analogy. If you said "it's *like* skating on ice" it would be a simile. The qualifier "literally" becomes helpful, when there's some chance that what the speaker says, might be taken as figurative. What's annoying, is not the ordinary helpful and constructive evolution of language, but the debauching of language, by means such as suddenly starting to use words as if they mean the exact OPPOSITE of their nominally excepted definition. So *NO!* Literally *DOES NOT* mean "figurative" goddamn it. It never has and as far as I'm concerned, NEVER WILL.

Awesome Tanner. Top 5 is really a victory man, tough track, slick with grip, cool tracks back east, great exposure and effort. Bobby has got to be pleased. Celebrate, then reload and keep the roll going. Try to be more aggressive with smarts, you are racing the best in the world at what you do. Great stuff, great job, great team, and you are the people's champ, you and the Rock. Keep Rocking and Racing.

I used to watch Old Man Lou Blaney swish around that track when it was 1/2 mile. They ran 17 second laps there when it was 1/2 mile. 410 sprints that is. 18 seconds was middy. Great run kid. Top 5 in World of Outlaws is respectable.

I looked at the WOO points stats. Do you realize your Finishing place percentage is ahead of Jason's. At 14 races in for both of you, you are ahead of Day in points, who is considered one of the great young talents out there. You're in a position to finish ahead of half the WOO regulars. Keep digging and don't have to get a bigger helmet size. Well you got your dream, and you found you are competitive, now the big question! Do you really want to be part of the carny that is the WOO tour, or have just as much satisfaction racing with your family and enjoying the benefits of a more normal life. Either way take time to enjoy the blessing.
