Hi Tanner! Love how u tested all the different products💕. I think it’s very important to note that when sublimating or using infusible ink, ur material ( make up bag, shirts, hats, gloves, etc ) must be the highest polyester u can get in order for it to actually stay after washing. As long as the polyester content is higher than let’s say cotton, it will work. 100% cotton will wash away. Dollar tree has the pocket pot holders & they r 100% polyester great for sublimating, yes their colors r dark, but I used black infusible ink & it looks awesome💕. I hope u don’t mind my input. Now I can not wait to try it on the wood shapes💕🥰. Love hugs blessings & prayers, Donna 🥰🙏💕

I was hired the next morning. Needless to say the first isle I reset was the craft isle. Now customers complement me on the isle saying it looks better than any Dollar Tree in north west Arkansas. 🤩 I look forward to following you.

I've been sublimating on the glass cutting boards DT sells. I was not able to find any plain clear ones, so I ordered a case from their website, and they came with both clear and some with designs on them. HOWEVER... the designed ones can somewhat easily be made clear. I fill the sink with water, dish soap and vinegar. Soak overnight or for at least a couple of hours. Then take a razor blade or scraper and remove. I have had some remove in one full sheet. The way I sub on them is actually to sub onto white permanent vinyl (not HTV) that is applied to the back of the board. You don't mirror and yes, the design comes through the vinyl and visible from top! I had seen someone do it and couldn't believe it until I tried it myself. I love hitting DT to find random things to try!

DT is great for beginners like me. I've tried sublimating on wood, towels, and canvas panels all worked well. Sometimes I think items work better with a real press vs an easy press
@hollyweaver72923 жыл бұрын
I agree about the real press (like a clamshell or swing away press) getting better results. You can get a lot more pressure.

Sorry to bother the wood you sublimate directly to the Wood or Do you put something?
@hollyweaver72922 жыл бұрын
@@sirt358 You can apply Minwax Polycrylic, or thermal laminating sheets (available in the office supply store). The sublimation paper may stick to it but you can scrub it with a little water and your image shouldn't be affected.

Hey Tanner. Just watched this video. Thanks for trying all the items that you did. For any of the stretchy items like the hat, gloves socks you should put a template inside to stretch them so the ink gets inside the groves. I sublimated socks and always use a template. You can cut a cereal box or any food boxes and use them as a disposable template.

I love the video. Also they usually have polyester or blend shirts and tanks. I think some of the items you chose are to dark to last, unfortunately. Sublimation results are an unknown until it's washed, so taking all these you can and washing them a few times would be the real test of the items IMO. The white car towels they have are %100 polyester and sub really well for hand towels, they are a bit fluffy though so not perfect. I didn't know you could sublimate wood without a coating on it first, the tree turned out great. Thanks for sharing and considering items that are not all expensive circuit products.

The oven mitt that's 100% cotton will wash out. Sublimation needs polyester fibers to hold on to. Sublimation ink cannot hold on to 100% cotton. If it isn't I'd say, for me at least 65% polyester I won't even mess with it.

I love the kids gloves and even the hat which you could sublimate the inside. Kids lose stiff line hats glove, scarves etc all the time you could sublimate their names on the items rather it be on the inside or outside so if they lose it everyone knows who to return it to. That would even be great for things like the baby socks, stuffed toys, bibs etc of your baby goes to a sitter or daycare I'm sure for a daycare or anyone who babysits multiple kids around the same age, it can be a challange to remeber what items came from what diaper bag, especially things like bibs, binkies and toys which may chance on a daily basis and may be something a kid can easily take off or leave somewhere. If you can sublimate a lanyard I would imagine you could sublimate one of those pasifier cords or some kind if snap tap type thing to attach to it. Those cords are nice but they just clip to the clothes a baby can still pull on the cord and pull the clip off of their clothes fairly easily or if it's in the right spot I've seen babies who crawl pit their knee on the pasifier and as they push themselves forward the little snap pops off of their shirt so even with those a pasifier can get lost but at least the child's name is on it or even if you don't want their name on it for safety reasons you could use another identifier like sublimate a teddy bear or star or someting on theory diaper bag and rhe same shape or picture on all of their Belongings so their sitter or teacher can just match the picture on the item to the picure on your child's bag. The baby and child items were a great idea though.
