These can be a challenge to install, but I use them in my ebikes and love them!

I just installed these on my bike. I did trim an inch off or so with a fresh utility blade, then I remove the entire tire from the rim. Installed the armor and tube into the tire, then mount the whole assembly onto the wheel, worked like a charm!

Thanks, it was my first video. I'm going to be doing another one, installing the Tannus Armour for my Rad Power Bike. It should be easier to follow. Glad you liked it, Tannus helps a ton!

I was recently in the market for Tannus Armour liners, then I started hearing about the foam flattening over time. I eventually found a KZbin video showing the flattened foam liner and the comments from viewers were interesting. Some comments mentioned Tannus' recommendation to deflate your tires after every ride ("...when not in use...") so as not the flatten the foam. Other comments confirmed the Tannus Armour foam also flattened in their applications, leaving the inner tube with minimal puncture protection, and causing other problems, assuming they used smaller inner tubes as recommended. I'm wondering if your Tannus Armour liners are also starting to permanently flatten? I imagine the flattening of the foam is a much slower process in lower PSI applications. Now we need someone to test the foam in city commuter tires (and more), with higher PSI for the road, to see if this foam is worth the investment. Tannus hopefully.

Those flatten out pretty quick, save the money for new tubes and tuffy liners

The trick is not to add as much air pressure to your tires after installing these. That helps keep them thicker. They also get more dense and harder to puncture as they flatten out a bit. I've had to change out countless tubes over the years working at bike shops from the Mr. Tuffy's causing the flat. These have worked well for me.

The tire was easier to take off than I thought. The hardest part was taking the actual tire off.

Just let as much air out as you can and use your tire levers. I have better camera angles in this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGPSd4NprrJ9ipo. This was done on a Rad Power bike, but the Tannus Install is the same.

Awesome video as always love your channel. Just curious I am expecting my 2.0 on the 24th of August and I am not mechanically inclined lol so if I got a flat tire on the rear on the road I would have to take the wheel off to fix it. Thank you and keep the videos coming.

Thanks so much for this informative playlist as well as links to the tools you used. As a newbie it is invaluable!! Question: Did you continue to use the stock tubes w/ the tanks armour or did you get smaller tubes?
@PedalWithPower2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff, thanks for watching. I need to update this video so it is easier to see. I just used the original tubes, so as not to be wasteful. You can use a slightly smaller tube as a spare. I still have the original tubes in mine with no flats. They work just fine! 👍

Success!! I ended up using Tannus tubes (there’s an option to add matching size when you order direct). Thanks again for this channel/playlist.

You responded to another comment that you have changed out many flat tubes caused by Mr Tuffy tire liners. I had not heard that before. What is it about those types of liners that causes a flat? Are there any other tire liners you would recommend? Thanks.
@PedalWithPower2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruce, the issue with Mr. Tuffy's, and this includes Stop Flats and Rhino liners, is that they have overlap when you put them in. This ovelapped section can pinch your rube over time. With the Tannus it's all one continous piece and Tannus is also a lor thicker. So I just use those 👍
@bruceh37862 жыл бұрын
@@PedalWithPower I know what you mean about the overlap but I was unaware of the possible pinching issue. It looks like the Tannus can provide better sidewall protection than a Mr Tuffy type liner. I will check it out. Thanks.

@@bruceh3786 Yeah, that's true. The Tannus covers the sidewall.

Chris, on a related topic, do you have any opinions on the less expensive protection options, like Slime and Flat Out?
@PedalWithPower2 жыл бұрын
Both of those can sometimes work, nothing is perfect. The reason I like doing Tannus instead, is that you're trying to prevent a puncture from happening rather than hoping the sealant will repair the hole after the fact. The issue with sealant repairing a hole in an inner tube is that the hole will expand when you add air to the tires. Patches can keep this from happening. I've still had to change out 100's of flat tubes that were filled with slime and it's a mess. Plus, the Tannus inserts can be used over and over again as you replace your tires, even if you ran over something big enough to get through. I've also had a tire get a large tear in it and still been able to continue to ride on it with the Tannus inserts installed. Check out the pictures in my article -- pedalwithpower.com/tannus-armour-review/

It's the threaded holes in the frame, just above the dropouts. The ones you took the 2 bolts out with the 4mm allen wrench. The safety washers line up with those, so you can re-install the 4mm allen bolts. I'll add another video tomorrow with a detailed explanation of how to remove and re-install the rear wheel. This was my very first video, I was just using a helmet cam and it's hard to see what I'm doing.

@PedalWithPower2 жыл бұрын
Potentially, just be careful about your saddle, grips, and controls if you are putting your bike upside down on the ground. If you plan to flip your bike around in the stand, make sure it doesn't tip over, it'll be top heavy
