I don’t have any red squirrel and the AQ17 with the decorated bamboo handle is beautiful! I think I’ll put that on my holiday list. It’s so unique!!

What a perfectly graphic and succinct video on brush fibre differentiation and application. Thank you. I love Fude. I think it has a remarkable history and complexity and an amazing artistry. For me, rephr is a gateway to natural hair bristles. The quality and variety are remarkable and very affordable. The use and care isn’t as problematic as the more fragile natural hairs. I have mature skin and it’s not particularly sensitive but there is nothing as soft as squirrel.

Thank you so much! I completely agree about Rephr. I think they are a great starting point and great workhorse brushes. I'm really happy that they are starting to experiment with some different hair types. Have you tried the fox hair brushes? They are really amazing for softness.

@@LexiJong I have the Chikuhodo Silver Fox line. They are gorgeous and really great to use. I don’t use them in liquid or cream products. They are too precious. One thing I am really getting into are short handled brushes. I find them easier to use for close work. My eyes are getting older too!

Hi Lexi! Thank you so much for doing this video. It is so helpful! 🤗I would like to know for the Tanseido AQ17 Cheek Brush is it comparable to both the Wayne Goss The Air-Brush and the Hakuhodo G116BKSL Highlight Brush Round & Flat [HA0240]? I use both these brushes to set my under eyes with translucent powder and would like to use the Tanseido AQ17 Cheek Brush to do the same.

I replied to this comment before so hopefully this is just a KZbin glitch! I have the air brush comparison on the community tab. I don’t have the other one.

Hi Lexi! Wow! Those are beautiful brushes. Even though I don’t need any more brushes (I gave some away recently), the red squirrel hair is really tempting. I know I have to hurry to make up my mind because, thanks to your video, I expect these will sell out in no time. Gorgeous look by the way! The Valentino pink punk blush isn’t available in Canada yet, nor is the new TF Soleil neige collection (although the display is all a set up). I don’t know what’s going on lately but Sephora Canada is getting stock a lot later than Sephora US. It’s frustrating (plus I am missing out on the sale). Sorry for the rant. Great video as usual.
@LexiJong Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jocelyne! Sephora has been a mess here in the US too but not as bad as Canada. It's crazy that they haven't prepared better for the sale imo. The site is very glitchy for me and I know a lot of people have complained about the app. I haven't placed my order yet from the sale because I had so many problems initially that some of the items I wanted sold out.

Oh my goodness, I bought one (AQ17 which arrived yesterday) without realizing they had different handle style options. 😅I wondered why it looked a little different than I was expecting. lol! The shina take looks fun and unique, but the traditional bamboo is the one I ordered by accident and perhaps that ended up being for the best. It has a classic look to it which I will probably prefer in the long run. I was also curious how different the AQ17 is from the AQ20, so I'm happy you were able to share that with us.

I really enjoy your brush videos. I use my Surratt brushes for powders, however I have not found my perfect liquid foundation brush. Any suggestions?
@LexiJong Жыл бұрын
Do you know what you want in a foundation brush? I love the Rephr 31, the Koyudo FUPA02 (natural hair) and the Koyudo F04 (synthetic) for my top 3. Sonia G Jumbo Base and BK Beauty 101 are also favorites.

@LexiJong Жыл бұрын
@@thecrystallibrarian there are a few options. The BK beauty brushes are really nice for that and they feel very soft. Chikuhodo FO-2 is incredible soft and although it is fox hair, some people recommend using it for liquid foundation. I know of a few people who do that because it is best for their sensitive skin even if the brush may not last as many years as it would if you only used it with powders. The Sonia G Fusion brushes like the jumbo base are great because they feel soft yet they are dense enough that you can use them sort of as a sponge/brush hybrid. Those are the 3 softest options imo.

@@thecrystallibrarian does your skin flake easily? Do you prefer light foundations or full coverage? What consistently do you tend to use most - serum, lightweight, or thicker cream foundations?
@PK-xv1cp Жыл бұрын
I prefer the AQ17 as well, it was dense and beautifully hand bundled. The AQ20 was floppy and thinly bundled. My recommendation is pass on the AQ20, and get the AQ28, AQ17.
