@@ThatCoalSoul You do realize a word can have different meanings right? Retard is a slur but in this context it's just a culinary term meaning slow it up, from the French word retard meaning lateness. It has nothing to do with his age or his sensibilities towards autistic/neurodivergent people

As ever, context is key. Retarding the dough, or the yeast, is a cooking term relating to delaying the fermentation of the yeast. It's a term used by bakers globally and because everyone knows that it's in context with cooking, no one, not so surprisingly gets offended.
