I have the 125cc version of that Tao Tao and after it warms up it doesnt bog like that but yeah the carbs are locked down when you get the bikes. I think it has something to do meeting certain fuel regulations here in the US so they run the carbs lean and lock them down. I Love your videos man! Keep em coming!

I never had the bog problem with mine. I’m about 212lbs 5’11”. and it has plenty of power for me. Took it to a motocross playground in Virginia Beach and it did awesome except front tire felt weak in the sandy areas. Have to send a pic of it to ya’

I bought a RPS Magician 250cc enduro and it had the same problem. It wouldn't start at all. I bought the mikuni carb off amazon and changed the jets on it and that solved the problem. I'm not at all mechanically inclined but I fixed it...just have to watch/pause a few KZbin videos while doing it

ExoticMoTioN Thank You for these videos and comparing the pit bikes, its helped me to decide on which one to buy, and its definitely going to be the Tao Tao DBX-1 140 cc. How can you ride with those clutch and brake levers up so high, that puts unneeded pressure on your wrist. I'm not gonna tell you what to do but i would suggest lowering them down to just under the level position and see how it feels, also to prevent bent or broken levers, position/adjust them in on the handle bars about an inch or two so the ends are about half to three quarters out on the grips so if you drop the bike the grips will take the blow and not the levers.

Yes I would check your states laws but in Illinois anything 49cc and under you don't need the motorcycle endorsement.

Adjust your clutch wire to make the idle higher and the speed on this bike is going to be unbelievable like a 450 2 stroke on stock carb just adjust the clutch wire with the adjuster on the middle of the wire the tighter you make it the higher the motor will idle and bike go faster

It's not the carburetor you have to tune the bike while you ride it so tender it actually does about 80 to 150 if you to tune it properly

I ended up buying the DBX1 wow I can't believe how fast and fun that bike is. The only problem now is I have no where to ride I have to find a spot to practice wheelies on. I ended up getting the same color as yours tho I wanted the bike with more white on it as my main choice. By the way it was from watching your videos which helped me choose between the Hawk 250 or a pit bike. Since you said the pit bikes feel more torquey and it's more fun so I listened and I'm glad I did thanks for that by the way. I just had one question because when I watch the videos of people doing wheelies on the 125's it looks like they are using less throttle. Though the 140cc puts the wheel in the air pretty easily do you find it harder to wheelie on the 140cc? rather than the 125cc?

I hate when people complain about there bike, fix it it’s a great bike if u knew what u were doing.. 1 fix the bars role them forward and that will fix your leavers and sit the way the bars are supposed to. go to a hardware store and buy the bolt for them. 2 turn ur choke off and stop complaining about it being boggy. 3 don’t throw your body back as much when u try “wheelies” you have a 140 and it should pull u up fine.

Bring that bike to my house Ill have it running mint. You do need to buy a variety jet kit for your carburetor so you can tune your carb. It seems lean, not enough fuel atomizing into the air.

Let it run in choke for about 5 minutes and mess with the idle. That should fix the bogging. If that don’t work then just like you said, I would replace the carb

That's not how you ride a wheely. You just put it in second gear let it rev out then let off the gas for a minute than dump it and pull up. The way your doing it it will never stay up. You have to get it up in the power near the rev limit. Than let it drop a tad than gun it. Than you can keep taping it and keep it up as long as you want.

You get the 125 tao db17. Im 6'4" and 250lbs, they are cheap at $800 you can upgrade later to the 250 if you feel the need, but I dont feel the need since these Chinese dirt bikes have plenty of power even for me, so im happy with what I have!
