We demonstrate the Pyro Creations .30 cal black powder cannon. It's important to understand how to use this gadget correctly and safely. We put it through the ringers to show how well it is made so that you can ensure you'll have a safe experience with it.
Use only under adult supervision.
This is an unpaid (un-sponsored) demonstration.
I can not put a link to Pyro Creation's website due to YT's rules, but you can google it easily.

I was expecting smokeless gun powder as well, not flash powder. May generate more pressure than the flash powder. Don't know how they compare, and can't find any good info on the internet. Of course, there are many varieties of both.

Life would be better if I had an extra inch to play with. Every little bit counts. Ok, I'm gonna continue crying at the pistol range - every round fired brings me closer to the moment when I have to go home and face that "just an inch short"; while at the range, it's an inch low, an inch high, an inch to the left and an inch to the right, but never an inch longer. I can't win.

I got a couple of these cannons to play with my nephew. I got some bricks, built a couple little castles, and we see who can knock down their castle first. Also works great with Lincoln logs and Jenga peices, but it is pricey. I have a solid wood wagon wheel we painted like an archery target for practice, and I attached protectors to the guns so we could set the range according to degrees. Works fantastic, I wish I had some of these as a kid.

Someone would mount it into their own makeshift rifle stock made out of hardwood, so long as they don't put crazy amount of powder they've got a high velocity hand cannon at close range lol... Tiny leads though is dangerous but not going to win you in a gunfight though, unless it's a mounted trap.

While I could be incorrect, putting the cannon in the center of that block might dampen the jump from recoil; the mass of the block forward of the cannon could help.

having made a small cannon out of aluminum in highschool, it's quite crazy the amount of power you can get out of a tiny cannon. Didn't do the first shot until 6 or so years after highschool and it scared the crap out of us. I'm guessing someone else has suggested it, but 10-20 bb's is always neat.

Hey TAOFLEDERMAUS, not sure if this is the best way to message you, but I’ve been thinking it would be cool to explore the supersonic effects of various rounds. For example, on a calm day, shoot (or “propel”) a round near a column of smoke, across a placid surface of water in a tank, or through some thin Mylar ribbons. Would be cool to see the difference between streamlined vs blunt and compare with subsonic projectile effects.

you should load powder then use white bread for wadding and then load the projectile. its not loud because you need bread wadding and you need to pack with a brass or lead hammer and a wooden dowel rod. try loading with powder and white bread wadding only packed really tight and you will get a good boom and much more power on your projectile. i have been using black powder cannons for over three years and white bread seals and no embers and it does not need to be cleaned up.

Nice, looks like the friendly birds in the background try to find your rounds after shooting, as the pigeons help Cinderella tidying up her mess. Might not be the most harmless job though.

Built one of those things while in shop class in high school. Used M80 powder and fuse firing a ball bearing. went approx 4 inches into a tree. Cannon survived well.

You could use band clamps to add sights. I have a .45 rifled replica naval cannon that I put together from a kit in 1978. I used to shoot it on New Years Eve.
