Bushcraft Skills - Camp Craft, Knife Skills, Pot Hangers (Overnight Camping)

Beginner bushcraft skills and tips on using a bushcraft knife for camp craft, creating pot hangers for cooking on as well as making withies from hazel saplings. I head back out into the woods for an overnight bushcraft camp with bushcraft and survival instructor Paul Kirtley. Paul shows us how to use natural materials and a few bushcraft skills to help create a camp cooking crane with double tripods and a cross beam. He uses hazel withies and sweet chestnut bark as cordage and together we eat good food cooked in a cast iron pot over the fire. Thanks for joining us on the adventure!

B ears watching a second time. The first time, I hadn't done much to acquire knife skills. I was awaiting the arrival of my knife when I watched this first time. After carving a spoon and a fork, then making hooks and such, the instructions make 100% sense. The details in each skill are so helpful I have confidence that i didn't have before about being successful. Thank you ever so much to you both. There is a kind of honor in brushwork. It is plain to see in this video how to read the wood one is about to work, how to minimize harm to a camp location, and to oneself. If true to these details, natural features available in each wood, one can go very far!

I have just recently been re-united with nature. I forgot the true beauty of the offerings nature has to give us if we desire it enough to work for it. I grew up playing in the woods. I found the fast lane after high school and remained there until addiction wore out its welcome. At 43 im once again addicted, only im addicted to playing in the woods once again. I've been on the Online Elementary Bushcraft Course with Paul for a couple years now, and I must say, Paul is thorough, very informative, and should you decide to join, you will not regret it. Fire craft, knife techniques, shelter (in all seasons), bindcraft and bonus edible/medicinal plant knowledge, as well as natural navigation techniques (using the sky elements, and natural fauna) will dazzle you and make you grow in bushcraft skills like few others can.

Been a while since I popped in but glad I did. Very enjoyable video with great info. I always wanted to experience sleeping on the ground but here in Louisiana, particularly my area, we have too many bad actors; cottonmouth, cane-break rattlers, copperheads and such. Not sure how much sleep I would get. I love all of your gear...waxed canvas has such a rustic look as well as being waterproof. At 75 years old, most of my camping days are gone, although I do try to get out at least a few times a year. This is why channels such as yours are so important....you let us go along as if there.
