It actually doesn't have to operate single-handed. If you get two, you can basically type twice as fast as with one once they're paired with your device. I'm typing this with them right now.

I actually like the concept, but it'd be better if there were two and you could type normally, including special characters. I don't think this design will ever be as full featured or quick as what you get with both hands.

That would also eliminate awkward hand gestures, room for extra macros and easier learning with each hand assigned for specific tasks similar to mouse and keyboard. I can see a lot of potential with this product and it's like a sci-fi turned real but at the moment it just looks awkward with one hand.

I think they could benefit from having a single and dual wield mode. For me, i see it being useful when I'm walking the streets or lying in bed. but if I'm sitting at a desk, I'll just use a keyboard. if you can choose to dual wield, then it might replace the keyboard and mouse. as someone else said, I may type at about 80 wpm. but that's only when I copying something. when I'm sitting here typing replies on youtube, text messages, etc. I'm not typing anywhere near 80wpm because I don't develop my written thoughts at 80 wpm. lol.

How would you access anything by touch other than the home row in a QWERTY keyboard? You only have ten fingers. You might be able to do something clever with IR sensors mounted at the wrist, but then you'll probably be making a lot more mistakes because it will be difficult to gauge exactly where your hands are in space. Meanwhile, I typed this entirely on my two Tap Straps on my pant legs with my eyes closed.

mhhh, I wounder if this can replace my Myo, I mean, I love the Myo for turning up music volume, skipping tracks etc while I am other wise doing other stuff like working out or cleaning the house, and I prefer to use my cerwin vega speakers when I do other things at home, but then I have to go to the PC and skip tracks etc. and although this is not hand and not on the arm, that kinda sucks, but I can no longer get the myo to work, issues with software

I have a leap motion, and it is nothing like this. It's a hand tracker and that's all (it can barely track two hands at once), how would it be able to input text? Projection keyboards aren't as versatile either; you can't use them in every situation. I'd say there's nothing on the market with built-in finger tracking for each finger, as well as software to convert "taps" to keyboard input.

I bought a CRAP strap 2. It's AWFUL! A nice idea that was poorly executed. I bought it only because I wanted it for windows. They claim it is for windows but they don't even have a windows app! Tech support just blew me off when I gave them a WTF. You can only do predefined movements in widows. Movements that are not natural to you. They should have had enough sense to embed the software into the unit like a driver. I wanted it mainly for the mouse ability. Unfortunately it is EXTREMELY finicky about the surface you scroll upon. I figured it would be easier on my wrist to scroll on my pant leg. It just makes it worse. If you are lucky enough to find a fabric it will work on, plan on wearing those clothes every day of the week. Otherwise, you must use a tabletop, and it still performs badly. Since you must use a table you might as well just use a mouse and keyboard. Another huge drawback is the charging. There is no plug in on the unit. You must charge it in the case. The case looks like a eyeglass case. You must sit and wait and wait and wait for it to charge or use an alternate. I am sorry I wasted nearly $200 on this gadget. But, there is a bright side. I did not buy one for each hand.
@MikeTrieu
