My Yakutian Laika only had one ear come up, so I had to tape the other one. Less than three days later his ear stayed up on his own. 😊

If the ear is clean, why to clean it with alcohol? Will the oils prevent the tape from attaching well?

Yes, the tape will not stick too well if the skin/ear oils are not removed. This is not a super sticky tape, but that makes it easy to remove later on.

What's the benefit of the ears staying up? It's okay if it's for aesthetics, I just want to be aware if there's any danger to letting them be.

There is no danger to letting the ears be, and I personally think that's adorable! And, most of the time they will come up on their own in German Shepherds. But sometimes, when they don't, people want to help them up for aesthetic purposes. I have seen all kinds of contraptions, so wanted to share this simple and non-invasive method ❤
