Its such a good feeling being able to cut your own hair when you want and knowing it's going to be what you want every single time
@knnaa4 жыл бұрын
I just cut my locs off after 14 years and gave myself a 2 all around with a taper fade. I was super nervous in doing it because I knew nothing about cutting hair! But after I was done giving myself a haircut and saw myself in the mirror...talk about empowering! Cutting your own hair is such a confidence builder! Then the more you do it the better you'll become, just like with anything. I swear, stepping outside with a fresh haircut knowing that every time you walk pass a mirror on the street and see that haircut, you know that was you. You did that and that is a great feeling. Great tutorial!

Dope video brotha! I cut my hair too whenever I don't feel like going to the barber or when I don't have time to. But my biggest thing is doing the back of my hair. I've always found it more difficult then the sides. But I think I may use your method and do that back first since it's the hardest. 💯

Your tutorial was great man thank you so much for this. Could you do a tutorial on how to master the angles/hand position when lining yourself up in the mirror? I can never find the right position to get a good view of what I'm doing. I've just been leaving it "fuck it" and I haven't messed up yet but if I had some tips that would make me feel a lot better. Especially behind my ear and the sides of my front line up. I'm using a hand mirror and my bathroom mirror. Thanks in advance.

Great video. Why do u taper from the lowest setting to highest as opposed to highest to lowest? If you did that, you would lessen the risk of bringing a guideline too high and having to adjust the taper or worse turning it into a fade.

Good video bro, you killing it man! I've been cutting my own hair for ten years now so I have a good amount of trial and error experience. lol The only thing I could suggest is branching out to the straight razor to hit the lower area of the fade or use a foil shaver of your choice to give it a even cleaner smoother transition from the light to dark area of the fade. Also, us the corner of the fast feeds to trim the darker area of the fade and cut down some of the bulk. Without pressing against the head, at an angle you could lightly come up with the corner of the fast feeds and do this. Or try using the zero guard or one guard depending on your hair length all the way open and hit the darker area only coming down with the clippers instead of coming up against the grain. Hope this info can help, keep at it!

First off I salute you brotha I appreciate what you’re doing showing how to do this. Second I pretty much memorized your other taper vid (pt 3) is this method easier? And last thing how do you get any hair with the #2 if you already cut it at #1. Is that for cleanup spot? Once again much respect to you bruh keep doing your thing, clean cut!
@CEONTHEMAKING6 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the love bro. I wouldn't say this method is necessarily easier. It does help to make the taper a little "tighter" if that makes sense. As far as the side taper, there's not much difference. The main difference with this method can be noticed with the neck taper. If you look at my old video of when I did my neck taper, the area of the taper is a lot longer and drawn out..compared to this method where the taper happens in a smaller space, but still blends pretty well. Even though I cut my whole head with a #1 guard, with the grain.. a #2 guard will still cut hair against the grain. Its because the hair lifts up when you cut against the grain. A #2 against the grain will cut slightly shorter than a #1 with the grain, hopefully that makes sense.
